After yesterday's curve day, I'm now experimenting with giving Junga LC spiked with Karo at +1 and/or +2 to see if we can keep his BG from cratering at about +2. On Sunday I should have time for a test at +3 to get a better idea of how he's doing.

This morning he was super wiggly for his AMPS; ended up spoiling a strip because he wiggled as I was trying to get it to sip up his sample. I wonder if that was just hunger, or if his higher BG had something to do with it?

Note: I'm not using gravy food as HC because Junga has a wheat/corn/who knows? allergy and I don't want him throwing up when his BG is low, or getting super itchy and needing cortisone baths. He's also super-fussy about canned food, rejecting most of it. Canned duck (which he loves) spiked with Karo is my current work-around.

Looks good this morning, Junga does like to drop early and fast.

I know you have explained several times about the allergy issue and not using gravy....maybe if you put it in your signature it will help others be aware so you don't need to keep explaining? Just a thought...

Have a great day!

Here's what I have in my signature:
"Junga, a 15-year-old male Devon Rex with a presumed wheat/corn/? allergy, was diagnosed 10/22/10; switched to canned food 10/22/10; insulin (Glargine) started 10/23/10. Relion meter, 26-gauge lancets.
Junga's spreadsheet"

I think you're right that that isn't direct enough; I suspect most people don't remember the gravy foods contain grain.
I will re-word it.

That looks clearer, just trying to save you explaining repeatedly! Especially when dealing with low numbers in a real time situation, the more direct it is, the better. ;-)
