LL beans! It is I!, Mannie, kitteh barista! For today I proudly offer Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Argentina, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: A venti quad pumpkin spice mocha, laced with cimmamum and nutmeg, topped with a caramel infused whip cream, garnished with pumpkin nut crunch, cimmamum sugar clusters and a dusting of cocoa... Ahhhhhhh.... It's good! try it, 'K?

Yesterday was.... a repeat of the day before, and the day before that and the day before that - probably way too many days. Mannie has had some great low blues on this dose, but no greens.... I probably should add a drop back on, but know too that when I did this before I had him in the low greens, and it took 19% HC just to keep him in the 50/60's... so... a little hesitant to increase. I love the dilemma: this dose maybe too little, an additional drop maybe too much... OK Mannie... dosecrease on the table anyways.... better numbers dude OK? I had hoped that we would wake up to a blue, since last night was a really flat yellow. Another case where, for Mannie, that meant, up, not down. Hoping for good things today. Lubs ya big guy. cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Yesterday was demat the kitty, and comb the kitty, and make sure my life insurance policy was up to snuff, day. :lol: :lol: Mannie so HATES to be brushed. Ever since the FD Dx it has been a battle. So I made sure I had all ready before having him assume the position, aka spread eagle under one very firm grasp. ;-) Steel plated armor: check! claw proof leather gloves: check! band-aids and neo-sporin: check! Wrist protectors: check! face guard: check! exits closed: check! cat secured: well.... more or less. and so the torture began... there were growls, hisses, flying claws, and major nipping. :o It is amazing to me that his head can whip around so fast and manage to find flesh. :shock: :shock: :shock: :o This was a hoot! He managed to get his front paws anchored into the carpet and proceeded to pull himself along the carpeting, attempting to dislodge my grasp, find the nearest exit, make his escape: all while doing that head pivot and drawing blood. :shock: :shock: :lol: :lol: I removed enough fur to make a whole new cat. :o so 15 minutes later the deed was done, he got a rub down with a fur conditioning cloth and all seemed to be forgiven. I gave him lots of cuddle after that, purrs resumed. YAY! We survived another one. :cool: :cool: :cool: Poor Mannie.... the nanners sure got a workout after that. This morning we had a great test, feed and shoot and clean plate club , purrs and a lots of cuddles. Apparently yesterdays combing session has been forgotten. :cool: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone. It will be another catch up day, errand day, yard work day here... so much to do! they say rain, so.... maybe I will get out of half of that stuff, like the yard work. :lol: :lol: :cool:

Hey everybody!! What's up? My bean says my BG. sheshhhh - they are never happy with the numbers stuff. AIyyeeee! anybody got anything they wanna do today? You guys wanna go snowboarding maybe? We gots a ton of new snow in our mountains. I got lots of hats and scarves and mittens and boots and stuff. and the bus is ready. We could grill on the indoor bus grill thingie too. And make snow forts. :-D What'd'ya think? or maybe we should just find some sun and hangout. Let me know! I am ready for anything!! ~~ Mannie

:lol: :lol: :lol: Oh this was great! I can just imagine the entire process just laughing. Poor Mannie - so glad he gets back in sorts so quickly. He's probably just looking forward to hanging with the kittehs today.

Mannie, that was quite a struggle you put up yesterday. I'll bet you feel much better today without those pesky mats. Now you just have to get your bgs down to blue and green. That double espresso sounds mighty good this morning!

Michelle, I hope you get all your chores done today so that there will be time for the fun stuff when the weather clears. We are supposed to have a nice day today, but so far it is damp and gray. Just like your weather!

Yo Mannie, snow surfing in the mountains. Yea on that idea. We can have hot tuna toddies after we come down from the slopes. See ya later,

Morning Michelle, oh how funny with the dematting and Mannie and his claws in the carpet! :lol: :lol: Mannie, I bet you looks so handsome today now with all the matted fur gone! Maggie is also up in the pinks today, too, so Mannie has company. I wonder what they got into yesterday, also Scrabble! I hope you get all your errands done today and find some time to goof off, too! We had our rain yesterday, but the sun did come out. It's only 45 degrees right now brrrr. My walk may need to wait til it warms up a tad!

Mannie, TY for my Espresso and venti pumpkin coffee drink. I love anything pumpkin.

Mannie, sounds like a blast with the snowboarding. Thanks for bringing extra fleece and mittens. I have a scarf and some extras, so will bring. The hot tuna toddies sound good, too. See hanging out at my curb, Mags

I dunno... and yes on the chores. here aren't too many left over from yesterday, so I think I will head on out to the local woods/shore trail this morning, before the rains show up. It's overcast and cold this AM: 32 right now. I am not too sure we will get that sun today....

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yes - it was darn funny, especially when he hooked into the carpet, and was succeeding in the pulling himself along. It is amazing how strong he really is. And he does look good today - his fur feels wonderful. I know on these pink kitties... Mannie has found the yellows, so I hope the others have too. Yes on the errands. only one and that can wait. The weather is cold here: 32, and overcast. Rains are due this afternoon, so I had best get out there now. cold or not. :lol: :lol:

HI Michelle.....it's funny, only when it's someone else's cat, doing the 'where's that flesh, lemme rip at it", routine. :roll:

So, how about getting him, to pull himself along one of those spiked plastic runners, designed to keep cats off furniture?
Then he can detangle as he pulls. :lol: Hmmmm, maybe I should try that on Clancy. He can detangle his own armpits. :lol:

I want to go walk in the warm sun, but it's windy enough to spoil it. Yuck!

Nice slide into blue for Mannie. That's so funny with Mannie pulling himself along on the carpet. Furball hates to be brushed. It is a pain to try and demat her too. If I'm lucky I can catch her when she first wakes up and get some mats off before she starts fighting.

Hi Barb - well, it was funny. I knew what I'd get, so i could find amusement in the predictability of the whole thing... I had a good chuckle while in the midst of it all.... OOOOOOOOOO! I like the spiked runner idea... anything that would take care of that belly fur. I swear it is 3" long there.... and the armpits! aiyeeeeeee..... ANd thx - day has been good. I got out before the rains, so that was good. Gray dismal dreary and drizzly right now. oh woo hoo on that. here's hoping that the winds stop there so you can get out too!

Hi Liz - that rainbow is now complete.... minus the red (anti-jinx). I will admit - it is GOOD to see the green!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mannie! And yes, I think he did. I swear I kept feeling a "presence" over my shoulder.... :lol:

Hi Michelle - I so wish he liked to be brushed - he used to love it. Then FD came along and that all stopped. Not too sure why.... I so hear you on those long haired cats! So unfortunately he has to put up with my efforts... poor Mannie... -- And thx - day is great so far!

Hi Carla - It had been a great slide - all the way to the green lagoon! WOO HOO! :mrgreen: I so loved the carpet oull - way too funny. Such a hassle when they don't like it, isn't it? I try to check him each time we do a test, find one, work it out while he's on my lap. That helps, but I stlll need to get a him with the comb/brush. He has such a dense down that never seems to shed, just keeps building... aiyee! I like your idea too - will have to try that - get a few while he's asleep.

Hi Ann :lol: :lol: on the full battle gear... I go in prepared! :lol: :lol: I just hat these battles, but what else to do - he simply does not shed, and all this should be shedded stuff just builds up. so.... we fight the battle, and try to be as gentle and as quick as I can. I so hate that meat hook in the carpet and the pull. he is so good at it, and so strong! I often loose out once he has his hooks in and is on the move. amazing what he can do from that position. :o :o :shock: :shock: ;-)

Michelle. I just laughed reading about the prep work before a grooming. My goodness Mannie puts up quite a fuss. Our Foster was that way also. DH would have to hold him down while I brushed out all that long hair. Oooo you'd think we were torturing him the way he growled and hissed. DH said he barely had much pressure on him...he just liked to make a fuss.

Love to see that :mrgreen: beside Mannie's name. Well done on reading that dosecrease threat to him! I too can sympathize on the combing thing. Neko does shed but since FD isn't as fond/tolerant of the combing as she used to be. I probably feel a bit sorry for her too. I think she's more tolerant if I keep doing it more often. I loved the combing checklist. I have a pair of rose thorn gloves that are very flexible and I used to use them when helping on "nail trim" days at the shelter. I should probably haul them out for combing day.

If Mannie wants to go snowboarding, he doesn't have to go far. Some of this afternoon's rain had shape :shock: to it and it's not far up the hills.

Hi Tamara - It was great today, and it seems like he is after another green tonight. headed own for sure! and yes - he does: his coat feels so nice now to. well yeah, love it is, that and omg - way too many mats....

Hi Amy - it has been a good one for him today. love these Numbers!! LOL on the dematting - he was awful quick to forgive. I am glad though. a few well paced pets was all it took.

Hi Deborah - he did it! greens! and we seem to be headed back there tonight too. YAY! Mannie's message to the bean: " I don't need no stinking dosecrease". LOL, and I guess not... :-D

Hi Wendy - Me too on the green - it has been along time,. He's been close a few times... but not green. it is the same with Mannie - ever since FD, no more brushing. oh yeah on the checklist... so so needed. I like your gloves option - that would work! You had snow??? OH OH! rain with shape... not good! well some would disagree - but for me? not good... :lol: :lol:

It was nice to see that green for Mannie even if briefly. We haven't been seeing it for Tess the last several days either. She didn't follow Mannie all the way to the Lagoon though and she did get that increase tonight. Maybe she will follow him all the way tomorrow.
 
Hi Ann - yep, that it was, even as brief s it was. I thought maybe he was heading there tonight too, such a drop at +2. bit no.... leveled out and back to the yellows. I dunno... probably needs a drop back on his too. one dose too much... another too little. guess we wit it out some more. Good luck with Tess's increase. let's hope they both see greens tomorrow. :-D Works for me.
