11/11 Chewie AMPS 307/ +3 263/ PMPS 358/ +2.5 346

Thanks! It's not easy to sneak in the drops between pokes either... she's so mad at me for always messing with her ears
Aw poor Chewie, and poor you. Lots on your plate. Have you ever tried getting a BG from a paw pad? I’ve read it’s an option although it would be a HARD NO for Herman so I guess it’s likely not up Chewie’s alley either. Just throwing that out there.

I thought about it the other day, but there's a good chance that would cost me a finger haha.

:bighug::bighug::bighug: I wonder if her ear issue has something to do with it? Is it fungal or just some kind of minor chronic thing?
It’s a chronic off and on thing that typically disappears for another year after a course of tresaderm. She has always been an oily cat (lifelong issues with sebum overproduction on her chin despite eating off stainless steel bowls etc.), but the past two years its really gone into overdrive. She grew a dozen little sebaceous cysts in two years - vets say they are benign and there’s nothing you can do about them. Sometimes I wonder if maybe that points to allergies? But she’s been eating that same turkey raw food for years and has done great on it all this time… it’s hard to tease out simple correlation/coincidence from causation…

I do believe her ears might be affecting her numbers, but also wondering about the raw food. Her numbers have gone up since we started feeding it again - she got sooooo finicky about canned food that it had become a struggle to get her to eat, so I ended up ordering it again. Maybe I should change from turkey to chicken or lamb, as an empirical experiment?

Tresaderm might also be impacting her numbers. It contains a steroid.

If you want to experiment with different proteins, I'd try lamb. Chicken is a more common allergen.
The question being, is she going to eat it… the food we are using is called Darwin’s Naturals and they ship to you in big quantities. For some reason my cats always snub raw food from the store - except for their beloved RadCat that doesn’t exist anymore.
I have tried sooo many fancy brands and they always end up rejecting them after a few meals. Sigh.
But worth a shot I guess if I want to see what’s going on, since she will definitely not accept to eat only canned.

ETA: seems that brand stopped making that lamb food during the pandemic. Only choices now are chicken and turkey. Back to the drawing board.

I will try a couple of rabbit or duck options available locally once the weeklong course of tresaderm is over, and see if it makes a difference.
Gotta work on one variable at a time otherwise I will never know what actually made a difference,
