Yesterday...

So it's up to 5.5u today after 4 cycles at 5.25u - let's see if yesterday's slightly-less-flat numbers carry over...

Still very hungry, he was fed a 3oz FF LC about 30 minutes pre-shot (we just couldn't wait until shot time, he was starving!) and he reminded me of that movie title, what was it, "Gone in 60 seconds"??? Yet he managed somehow to eat a whole dish of food and leave the Xobaline pill behind! Still meowing for more food though and when Cathy put the pill down on the floor, he wolfed it down - !!!

DCPAH threatened to have our results out by this afternoon - so let's hope we hear something about IGF-1 today...!

Re: 11/10 Sooty AMPS 308

Good morning Perry and Sooty!

I haven't been around much the past couple of months (haven't even got around to posting a condo today), so I'm not totally in the know with what's going on with Sooty, but I just wanted to let you know that Sooty and Emma are in a very similar situation. I started her on insulin in June, and had some initial response to the insulin, but now it seems she stays yellow and pink ALL THE TIME. It makes me crazy. She had some bloodwork done in preparation for a dental a couple of weeks ago, to see if that may be the cause of her trouble. One of her liver enzymes was elevated, so the vet wants to wait and recheck the bloodwork before putting her under anesthesia. When she has blood drawn again I'm going to ask them to send some blood off to MSU for at least the IAA test. I thought I read that they weren't doing the IGF-1 anymore...maybe I imagined that though (?). Anyway, take a look at her spreadsheet and you'll know you're not alone!

Have a good day!

Another pink kitty this morning!!

If Sooty isn't happy with the Xobaline pills, you might try a powder. I was using this brand. You just dump the contents of the capsule into food. It contains no sugars -- just a little bit of rice flour.

He's usually absolutely fine with the Xobaline pills, I have no idea what he was thinking this morning! Maybe he is now a confirmed convert to wet food, and he thought we were trying to test him by sneaking a kibble into his dish? Yeah right - I bet he would still bite your arm off for some of that old dryfood 'crack' !!! LOL!

Re: 11/10 Sooty AMPS 308

Hahaha! Wouldn't it be great if kitties really did think a pill was kibble? How awesome that would be! No more struggling with those nasty meds. ohmygod_smile

Good luck today and I hope you hear from your vet.

Thanks for dropping by! Yes indeed, I will check out your SS later (I can't access them from here at tbp...)

(PM sent) I think the test you're thinking of that they stopped, is the GH (Growth Hormone) test, as opposed to the IGF-1 test. The GH test was done at a different Lab at a different University. If you're going to get the IAA test done then you might as well get both done (IAA and IGF-1), just one blood draw, one shipping cost (both are done at the MSU/DCPAH Lab), etc. The added cost of getting the IGF-1 test done at the same time would be a lot less than doing them separately, and the information you'll have will be invaluable...

Today: AMPS 308 +3 238 +5 248 +7 266 PMPS 267.

Got home from tbp rather late but no, there was no call from the Vet office re IGF-1 results - so I will be on the phone to them tomorrow morning...
