Good Morning, Everyone,

We'll see if Rusty can get back to normal after what was apparently a partial-fur shot last night (on top of a mysterious high AMPS). He had a good night and ate all his nighttime food. Good test this morning, good shot, good breakfast, good nap on the couch (not in his little bed by the radiator!). I was fiddling with the position of the TV set and he came over to see what I was doing and we both sat on the couch so that I could check out the angle of the picture. All of this was in preparation for our little group's first "movie night". We decided that this winter we would hold occasional movie screenings at our various houses. I volunteered to do the first one and we will show a DVD of my favorite movie of all time: "The Third Man". Popcorn and beer will be served. (This counts as a "party" in our group effort to have at least 20 parties a year.)

It's a lot warmer today (in the 30s already this morning) and the sun is out, so Rusty will enjoy some outdoor time. We need to do some leaf raking. We're getting ready to walk to the farmers' market. Wishing you all a good weekend,

Ella & Rusty

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O)

Sorry I missed you yesterday... Way too tired after three days of DGS, and crashed early last night.

Sorry for the partial fur shot , but not too bad of an amps considering. Greens await Rusty - the lagoon needs its master. :-D

Movie night! How fun! and a good choice for the groups first movie. Too fun with Rusty coming to check out what you were doing, then settling in for a couch nap. :-D :-D

We are in the 30's here too. 32 this AM, all is covered with such a pretty sparkling frost. Clear skies though, so no chance of snow.

Have a great one today! Enjoy the farmers market, and the movie night.

Re: 11/10 Rusty AMPS 196

Morning Ella!!!

I hope it was just a fur shot and those numbers will come right back down. Always great to see Rusty in blue and green!

I saw on Reuben's condo last night that you sent her a link for a hairball remedy. When I looked at the ingredients, it had sorbitol which is an alcohol sugar. I've been using Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil for my gang. It's expensive but it's worth it. Scottish Folds have luxurious coats to begin with (esp Gracie) but this has made their coats unbelievable....even Gussie. And the hairballs have stopped. Gracie LOVES this stuff and so I just put it on her plate and she licks the finish off the plate    Tobey and Gus also like it but they won't lick all of it off so I slowly syringe it to them and they lick the syringe. It can also be added to food. I recommend you start slow...about .25 ml bid and then gradually increase to 1ml bid.

How fun on the movie night! I've never seen "The Third Man". I'll have to check it out. Have a blast and stay warm! Hugs from all of us esp your other best boy who wants to know if he can come watch the movie with his beloved Auntie Ellabean?

Re: 11/10 Rusty AMPS 196

Good morning Ella. I'm sure Rusty will forgive you for the fur shot and get back down in the low blues or green today. I hope you and Michelle have your winter coats out and ready to go..in the 30s. Today is a windy chilly day here (about 74).

Great idea for the movie night. If your group starts to looks anything like the photo that Marje posted about half way through the movie you've had too much to drink! I watch a lot of movies but have never seen The Third Man. I'll have to find it and watch it.

You brought back memories when you said you were going to walk to the farmer's market. We use to that every other day when we lived in Holland.

Have a great day and a fun movie night.

Re: 11/10 Rusty AMPS 196

Thanks for the link, Marje, I'll check it out. But doesn't coconut have sugars in it too?

I know that sorbitol is a sugar, but the tiny amount that must be in a 1/2 teaspoon of hairball gel hasn't seemed to have an effect on Rusty's bgs. He loves the NaturVet hairball gel and considers it a treat.

"The Third Man" is a terrific movie: it is based on a Graham Green novel and takes place in (and was shot in) immediately post-war Vienna. Foreign intrigue at its absolute best. Cast includes Orson Wells, Joseph Cotten, Valli.

Of course Tobey can come to watch the movie. The whole kitty gang will be there. A cat plays a very important role in this film.

Re: 11/10 Rusty AMPS 196

I hope Rusty gives you a nice surf today after his fur shot last night. Your movie night sounds like fun. I hope you have a good time. "The Third Man" is a good movie. I'm sure everyone will enjoy it.

Re: 11/10 Rusty AMPS 196

Nope...no sugar in coconut oil. Jill uses it for Alex, too.

I also agree with you on the minute amount Rusty must get of the sorbitol. It sure doesn't look like it affects his BG. Just thought I'd throw the coconut oil idea out. It makes their fur UNBELIEVABLE!!

Heading in the right direction, Rusty will be over that fur shot in no time!

Sounds like a fun night! But it seems that you will have a larger audience than anticipated!  Just watch for dried anchovies in the chip bowl!

Movie night a success, but Rusty wanted to have his nighttime shot at the normal time, while the guests were still here, and I think the 172 reflects that. He was all wound up. Cats don't like their routines messed with!

Hey kitties, wasn't it great that the cat had such an important role in The Third Man?
