Started high after the minimal dose last night, gave her 0,08 and then she got the much lower pmps.
The ideal dose must be 0,06, but that is something i just cant messure. 0,04 is to small a dose, 0,08 to much. When ever she is below 160 i only give the small dose, knowing she will be above 200 at next ps, but thats how it has to be for now.

Todays pic is my mothers cats Sussi and Leo. Brother and sister from the same litter. Mostly norvegian forrest cat but also 1/4 maincoon. Leo is black and white, Sussi a torsie :) both around 16 pounds and especially Sussi is fat, Leo is just large.

How on earth do you measure these small doses. Do you count drops or use digital calipers?

With those tiny doses there is nothing wrong with using a small sliding scale. Which I have noticed with my cats on Levemir actually does work with it, but didn't seem to with Lantus, although I have no clue why, except possibly because of the different ways the two insulins form their depots, Lantus has to form and then melt crystals while Lev binds and unbinds to a protein in the body. <shrug>

What pretty kitties.. I love the big breed ones. Autumn is probably at least part Maine Coon and she tops the scales at 14 lbs now that she is healthy again.

The smallest dose that i can messure is 0,04 u. If it really is 0,04 u i have no idea about, but thats what i call it. When i put the needle into the levemir i push the plunger as hard as i can before putting it in. When inside i let go and a small drop go into the needle. Thats the drop i call 0,04 unit. When the plunger just touch the zero line, thats what i call 0,1 unit. So the 0,08 unit is minus one drop from the 0.1 unit. I have 1/2 unit markings on my syringe, but we are no were near 0,5 unit and never has been.

When Prop only needs the 0,04 unit it is so easy, since i dont have to messure and there are no air bubles. So the best news at 6 am in the morning is when she only needs 0,04 unit :)

i Just LOVE your pictures. I am going to have to take some pics and post too. I love seeing pics of the kitties
