Yesterday green to black

I am happy to see that Papaya found some more middle-of-the-road numbers to start the day. Maybe she'll work her way back to where she was before she started the last few days of yo-yo-ing? She actually spread her second breakfast out over a few hours today - she did go eat a bit of it right away when I put it down, but she left most of it until about 2.5 hours after her shot. I've taken her a couple of snacks this morning and she's not too hungry, more interested in snuggling back under the quilt! Last night even with the high PMPS she seemed to be feeling good, sleeping with her feet propped up on a wrinkle in the blanket & tummy in the air, so though I gave her a pokey-break I don't think she stayed really high for long.

Mariko - I baked some pumpkin bars with lots of spices and chocolate chips, because I thought I was invited over to a friend's place for coffee . . . but when I showed up she looked at me blankly and said "Did I tell you Saturday? Because everyone is coming on Sunday!" so I left my pumpkin bars with her and will try again tonight  I thought Papaya was being quite cooperative by having high numbers when I had to be out, so I really hope she's not low tonight because the poor lady will think I'm offended at the mixup if I cancel tonight!

I hope Papaya will keep surfing and not bounce too high. Pumpkin bars sound yummy.

Re: 11/10 Papaya AMPS=381 +6=87

Oh lord Amy I have had a sweet tooth all morning and those pumpkin bars have my mouth watering! MMMMM...
Arrrgggg...those darned bounces! I was really hoping it wouldn't be so severe this time. I'm not sure if this is much insight, but her extreme number jumps look exactly like when Twice was on Caninsulin. Just crazy from one end of the spectrum to the other...just tninking out loud.
Have a great night out and I hope the hostess didn't eat all the pumpkin bar desserts u left there last night

What a slide down Papaya

Hope she lets you out tonight Amy. The pumpkin bars sound luscious, and the story is hysterical!! If I was that hostess, I definitely would have at least tasted one!

Re: 11/10 Papaya AMPS=381 +6=87 PMPS=69

Sending you all a virtual pumpkin bar, Josie, Carla, Kim, Jane and Suzanne . . . I'm glad they didn't all fit on the plate I took last night so I still had some at home to sample!

Kim - I know! so true about Papaya looking like she's on Caninsulin! I remember joking with one vet a while back - I am giving her Lantus, really! He had referred to it as a gentle, "peakless insulin" . . . at least until he started seeing Papaya's spreadsheets

So I got a 69 for PMPS. Lil stinka! And I'm supposed to be at my friend's place just after +2 . . . argh. A lot of the time lately when Papaya has started in low numbers, she's on the way up anyway, but I would rather have numbers a bit later than +2 to confirm that. I'll test as late as I can before I have to leave, and if it's not clear whether it's going up or down, I'll just leave lots of food out and not spend too long out. It's just supposed to be "coffee and dessert" so if I'm there a couple of hours and come back by about +4.5 I think it should be fine since she'll be eating what I leave out anyway. Just don't want to give her a bunch of MC if she's on her way into a bounce. Last night was so much simpler :? Basking in the confusion she has created, Papaya is at the moment nested smugly in the middle of a handknit wool sweater I left on the bed. She loves wool almost as much as boxes!

Well done Papaya!   Way to mess with the bean's plans tonight. I hope she comes up just a tiny bit so you can get out.

When I started on Lantus, the vet told me to expect the day to start out between 10-12 (180-216) and nadir from 5-7 (90-126). I also got lots of head scratching when I presented Neko's SS.  Course they would be alarmed at you shooting that 69 too. Well done. :-D

Re: 11/10 Papaya AMPS=381 +6=87 PMPS=69

  I know what you mean about the vet head-scratching, Wendy . . . a "typical curve" is seen about as often as a unicorn around here!

I'm back! I gave Papaya some MC before I left since the 104 didn't tell me yet which way she was going. I also left out a generous amount of half regular, half MC just in case she was dropping. I guess I could have stayed for another cup of coffee since I came home to a 274 at +5 . . . oh well better safe than sorry. Papaya completely cleaned up the food I'd left out, so she's been rather overfed tonight! All that MC is probably inflating the BG numbers a bit, so hopefully she won't be much higher than this for AMPS.

Yup, better safe than sorry.
Papaya is so funny. I guess she enjoys messing with your plan.

Hmmmm.... Punpkin Bars..... sounds yummy.
