Yesterday we saw a brief break from yellow, but Neko's back at it today. Might have done a partial fur shot last night. She moved down as I pushed the plunger.

11/9 Recap:
AMPS 244 +7 274
PMPS 184 +3.5 225 +5.5 210 +10 231

More yellow this morning, but some of the blame might be on me. Almost the same start as yesterday, hoping for a descent into blue again. Later this afternoon Neko goes in for her wellness exam including heart murmur check. I'll get a urinalysis but not sure about B/W. Just got that done a little over 3 months ago. But we have switched to Lev since then. I'll see what the vetty says. I also get to tell her we switched to Lev.

Hazy day today, sun valiantly struggling to break through, kitties are ever hopeful in the solarium. Neko had a great kneading session in her basket. I love the look of concentration on her face when she's working the fleece.

Re: 11/10 Neko AMPS 243

That was such a great start to the day, Neko, what happened? Maybe she heard you talking about the - you know - vetty visit

Hope you get the best possible report back from your vet visit! And - better numbers, too!

Re: 11/10 Neko AMPS 243

Looking rather Swedish, Neko, let's see some blue and then green. Hope all goes well at the vet. Hazy here too, but that's unusual for us.

Re: 11/10 Neko AMPS 243

I hate wondering if I gave a fur shot. I hope Neko comes back down soon and she gets a good vetty report.

Hi Wendy ~O)

Good luck with the vetty. I hope that went well, and that Neko has a good report.

Com eon back to the blues Neko... pinks are boring....

Love the "working the fleece"! We never did get that sun today, though we were supposed too. Just alot of clouds and overall grayness. Hope you guys did better.

Enjoy the rest of your evening.

+7 328
Sigh - looks like blues are elusive this cycle. That +7 was before we went to the vet. Vet clinic was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday - they are one of 2 vet offices open in our city on Sunday. Apparently I missed the crowd earlier. The down side is that the courier to the Idexx had come and gone so blood and urine samples won't go out until Tuesday as tomorrow is a stat holiday here. I should get results Tuesday PM. Check up went pretty well. Heart murmur is exactly the same - yeah! Cardio vetty told me only to worry if it changed. Weight is almost exactly the same as 3 months ago. Teeth look good, vetty got a small piece of tartar off. However, gums not so good. There was a red mark on her right side. Vet was wondering if it was a cavity and got a probe out but that caused bleeding. The other possibility is that a piece of bone from her raw irritated her gum line. I'm to keep an eye on it for a couple weeks. If it gets better fine, if not, more exploration needed.

@Suzanne - She went the wrong direction, must have heard me talking about the vet. Now we wait for results.

@Liz - Is there a pink and yellow flag? Visit was quick, Neko was glad to be back. Wanted out but the neighbour has his yard vacuum going.

@Kim - Yup, I wish she worked the juice the same way she was working that blue and green (hint!!) fleece.

@Carla - I think that +7 says that last night was at least a partial fur shot. Time for patience. Again!

@Michelle - Mixed partial vetty results so far. Best news was on the heart murmur - that one had me worried. I so agree on the pinks, they are even more boring than the yellow streak she's been doing. Sun just oozed out a bit, we are back to interesting looking clouds now. At least it's dry.

Re: 11/10 Neko AMPS 243 +7 328 - back from vetty

Come back down Neko! Glad the vet was a good visit and good luck with results on Tuesday.
Hope you and Neko have a pleasant night, lots of fleece blankies!!

Re: 11/10 Neko AMPS 243 +7 328 - back from vetty

sounds like a good vet visit - great to hear her heart murmur hasn't changed!

you must not need prescription for insulin in Canada - is that right? what did the vet say when you changed insulin?

Re: 11/10 Neko AMPS 243 +7 328 - back from vetty

@Elizabeth - I was worried the vetty would be full of barking dogs and mewing cats, just to add to Neko's stress. But went OK.

@Julie - No prescription needed. :-D Vetty asked "did the pharmacist give the insulin without prescription?". I've told her that before, I guess she was surprised on the change. But I did tell her it has flattened Neko out a lot. These vetty's prescribe Caninsulin first so even Lantus was a novelty for them. I realized after I got home that I forgot to get her to check Neko's joints for arthritis. Should have made a list of things to talk about. Last visit I forgot about the heart murmur check. ohmygod_smile

Re: 11/10 Neko AMPS 243 +7 328 - back from vetty

Hi Wendy,
I am glad that Neko's vet visit went relatively good - except the gums.
And it's good the clinic was quiet.
It almost makes me want to turn around and go home when I take my cats to the vet and hear some poor dogs barking/whining in anxiety.

I really hope that Neko's gums will be OK.
Senging her strong gums vines.

Re: 11/10 Neko AMPS 243 +7 328 - back from vetty

I'm glad the vetty visit went well, was quiet with minimum stress & the cardiac assessment is positive. Bummer on the red gums / possible cavity.

I researched & our vet has at their office Maxiguard Oral cleansing gel. There's a stronger version & a maintenance version. Tigger gets the stronger version for his stomatitis gums & it's helped his remaining 6 teeth. Except I stopped during his URI & forgot to re-start.

Meanwhile, I hope Neko comes back down now that she's safely home.

At least she slid down a bit. Neko eventually went outside for a yard patrol so got some exercise. DH and I were downstairs in his office before dinner (far side of the house from the kitchen - what, me hide? ), when the cats decided they had to come and visit. I was getting lots of head butts and hints from Neko. She seems back to normal again. :-D

@Rhiannon - The B/W might tell us something as well. This vet believes in going with your gut in getting tests. I've never seen Neko "stuck" in yellows as much as she is now.

@Mariko - I was worried the vetty visit would be noisy but just one small quiet dog there. It's just one small spot on the gums, but quite red. Should be easy enough for me to monitor.

@Suzanne - Thanks for the tip on the cleansing gel. I like to go prepared to vet visits. Neko's teeth are fabulous for a kitty her age and this is the first time she's had a gum issue.

Hi Wendy, Glad Neko is recovering from the vet visit. Was the vet even curious about how the Levemir was working?

Thanks again for the help in my condo last night. Have a great evening.
