Yesterday, day 2 after chemo = no appy day. Thanks all of you for your support and vines. :bighug:

Better appy today, I hear munching as I type. It's "just" Royal Canin Recovery, but as long as she's eating, I'm OK with it. No, truth be told, I'm thrilled!:joyful: I did not give scheduled fluids last night. Yesterday I left a message with both cardio and IM vets, and heard back from neither. Which is unusual. It's a long weekend coming up and neither normally works Friday anyway. I'd really like some guideance from them so may call later today. Neko does seem a bit better today. She got a dosecrease back up.

I'm feeling a bit hopeful about visiting the island tomorrow to see my parents. My DB is going with his family too. DH may stay home and do kitty duties. We'll see how plans evolve today. If I go, I may whip up a wreath to commemorate the death of our great uncle in WWI! 100 years ago. But first on tap later this morning is performance training with lactate testing and VO2 max/energy training while on the rowing machine. The idea is to find out what is the best way for me to train this winter. You are tested incrementally until the point of exhaustion, part of it with an oxygen monitor mask on you. Not looking forward to that part.

YAY for the appy!
And glad you may get to go to the island and ceremony tomorrow- My grandpa is still alive and a WW2 vet- he was shot down and in a POW camp for a while in Italy.

I do not envy your workout today- it will be great to get the results I am sure- but exercising to the point of exhaustion- :)

Have fun!

Yay for Neko Appy! :cat:Hoping you do get to the ceremony with your DF and family. It sounds like a very special occasion especially this year as you DF will be hopefully be able to attend. :bighug:
Yikes on the workout, makes my body hurt just reading it!:nailbiting: I admire you immensely.:bighug:

I'm not sure about this whole oxygen mask thing but you know what your doing and this is coming from someone who is completely out of shape. :p

Super happy to hear the munching for Miss Neko and may it continue. Paws crossed you get out for the celebration tomorrow :bighug::bighug:

I'm glad Neko is eating for you today. I hope you hear back from the vets soon. I hope things work out for you to go to the ceremony. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Good to hear Neko is eating! Yay! Hope your plans work out for tomorrow. The performance training sounds very interesting. I hope you get some useful information.

Hi Wendy,
I'm glad Neko is eating. Keep on eatin' yer fuds, Neko!
Have a lovely family ceremony honoring your great uncle tomorrow. My dad and my uncles were WWI vets. They all made it back. I'm sorry your great uncle didn't.

Hope you hear from Neko's vets today.
Good luck with your to-the-max training!! I don't think I'd want to go to that extreme:)

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

So happy to hear that miss Neko's appy is better.

Good luck with your your vo max, I hope you'll find it useful for your winter training.

Keep eating Neko!! Make beans life a little easier and a little less worrisome... enjoy your time with your family tomorrow.

Make sure there's a nice mat beside the erg to fall over onto.
Well, that was humbling! I just ran out of gas at one point. DH, of course, went higher than me, but he just ran out of strength to push any higher watts. I didn't need a mat, but DH rolled flat on his back after.

Neko's still not eating full calories, but way better than yesterday. We have an appointment with the IM vet on Monday. I think she'll be OK until then. If she gets worse, there is always the ER. I called her regular vet, but she was fully booked today. I just want someone to take a listen to her heart. She does seem better today in that respects, though the respiration rate is still higher than her usual.

Good to hear she was eating more today than yesterday. That's progress!!

You're a brave woman to do that testing! Good for you for staying in shape.

Sending all my good cardio vines to miss Neko. I hope she has a relaxing weekend with a good appy and no excitement. :bighug:

I did chat with Neko's regular vet on the phone. She thought that since Neko was better today, it would be easier on her to wait until Monday. The vet visit would also stress her heart. And if she gets worse, we could always go to the criticial care section of the specialty vet clinic. She ate half of her meal tonight. I will syringe the rest.

I am going to the island tomorrow. DH will be in charge. The visit will not include the service, as DF isn't feeling up to going. But we will have a family lunch and DF usually perks with a visit. My uncle and cousin (both ex service) will attend so we will have family representation. Later I will lay my poppy with the hundreds at the cenotaph.

I'm beat from today. I forgot to mention that the lactate testing required taking a drop of blood to analyze at each stage. My pinkie finger is sympathizing with Neko's ear.

Nice report for Neko this morning and hope it continues. On the workout I think I'll go back to bed. Workouts are not for me, although I really need them.
