Just back from the vet’s office. BP was still 180. I think that’s higher than last time and he’s been on 2 BP meds since last time. I also gave him a Gabapentin and sprayed his carrier with Feliway. It’s extremely frustrating because that vets office is a loud busy place. Oh and the clinic cat, Flo came up to him in his carrier again. He doesn’t like her because she smacked him one time. I’m pretty sure his BP is a lot lower at home because he’s so afraid when he’s at the vets. I didn’t see the vet today. The tech checked him and he had his lab work done. The tech said his vet didn’t want to make any changes in his meds. They didn’t say when he needed to go back so I’m just going to wait 3 months when his next labs are due. The labs are expensive and I can understand that but the BP checks alone are $40 without seeing the vet. So $286.00 and we didn’t even see the vet. Crazy. He did get refills on amlodipine and enalapril though. I’m beginning to think I’m wasting my money on the BP check part, although I try to be compliant. Anyway, I hope and pray his labs are good.

Sounds frustrating, we all try to do the best for our kitties but I can relate to wondering sometimes about the value of certain vet visits and tests given the stress on the cat, never mind costs that quickly spiral out of control. It’s hard.
