I, SOOOO, screwed up last night! I completely forgot to give him his shot, so, of course he's sky high this morning. May have to up him tonight, ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile

Since he was on the bed sleeping, I readied his shot and brought the testing stuff in here too. Tested him, needed to wait 15 mins to shoot and completely let it fly right out of my scull! I'm so pissed off! Just gave him his normal .50 dose. May have to take him back to .75 for a few days, will see what happens.

I swear, if this keeps on, I'm buying a voice recorder with alarms.

Re: 11/10 Lucian AMPS 506I so screwed up at last

Feces occurs ohmygod_smile. But now you know why there are alarms set on my cell phone. Or Autumn would never get shot or tested on time  My mind is a steel trap, everything that goes in gets horribly mangled.

Phew... so glad that's an "I" and not a "1" -- didn't know meters could go that high

I hope you two have some good stories about your wild night on the town in your fun outfits. I remember when I used to do that... I need a new BF!!!

Re: 11/10 Lucian AMPS 506I so screwed up at last

WOW LUCIAN! You IZ extra sweet! 5061! WOW! <...insert angelic look here...>

Yep, doodoo happens - been there, done that, kicked myself but discovered it didn't help anything.... :-D

HUGS DEB! I just learned that my Beyer Contour has an alarm - it is SUPPOSED to turn it on and beep when I set it...I'll have to try out that feature....

Re: 11/10 Lucian AMPS 506I so screwed up at last

Deb, you sound just like me when I had Jazzy. I was sick most of the time I had her and was spending a lot of time in a fog. I would fill the syringe, set it on the counter while I fixed the food, and completely forget to actually give the shot. I usually found the syringe at bedtime and would decide to just wait until morning. One good thing is that it seems like once they are well regulated, those little blips don't usually seem to affect them for as long. Stuff happens.

Overall Lucian is looking great! You're doing a good job with him.

Re: 11/10 Lucian AMPS 506,+7/118

Well, surprisingly enough, he's right back down where he needs to be. I gave his shot at his normal time this morning, didn't think that would hurt any, since I missed it entirely last night. Of course, I had planned to work him back to his normal time over the next few days. As I understand it, if you miss a shot like that, it's ok to take him to his normal shot time right?

I know what happened, it was the xanax I took for the nausea, since I'm out of my anti-nausea meds. After the show, we went for Chinese take out, since everything else was closed or would be before we could get there. If I had stuck with the steamed dumplings I'd have been fine, but NO, I had to have fried scallops too. Not 30 mins after eating, the nausea kicked in and I had nothing else to calm it. I just can't eat any kind of fried food without my meds, I know better, but knew the xanax would work until I could get my meds and I REALLY wanted scallops. Even with my anti-nausea meds, I have to keep high fat/fried foods to a minimum.

His PMPS was 79 last night at about 11:30 pm, I was waiting to give his shot at midnight. I completely forgot about it, the syringe was laying right on the nightstand at 4AM when he woke me to eat. Being 4 hrs late and his normal shot time coming up in another 4 hrs, I said to hell with it, and gave his shot at his normal time. A fresh one, I threw out the one that had been sitting there for 8 hrs.

Gotta go to WM and get my meds this afternoon, xanax works in a pinch, but I get CRS. I'm just glad it didn't cause Lucian any more problem than the 1 high AMPS. :thumbup Actually was shocked at his +7. :o

NOW! about the show..........BJ Thomas, at 73 I believe, put on a fantastic show! I had watched several videos on Utube of some of his shows this year, which is why I wanted to go. A lot of older performers may still be touring, but they sound awful compared to what they were 30-40 yrs ago, which is to be expected, we all get old. On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being at his best, he is still performing at a '9" level, which amazed me! After the show, while talking with a bunch of ladies in the ladiesroom, we all agreed that he has lost next to nothing in his vocal ability. Plus, he was very personable, joked a round a bit with the audience, etc. Was a great show! He would give a little history on certain songs, funny things that happened at the time, etc. My son said he really enjoyed it, recognized most of the songs and thought the guy had a great personality by the way he interacted with the crowd and couldn't believe his age. Said he'd go to some others like it, if I wanted to and that he was glad we could have some time together, which almost made me cry, since I so rarely get to see him. He is so busy, works 60 hrs a week, college 3 nights a week, gym 5 nights a week, plus a fiance'.. He hadn't even seen his fiance' yesterday. But said, if I wanted to do this sort of thing once a month or every couple months, he'd be happy to come with me. Nice to have a little bonding time that we haven't had in many. many years. Oh! and when BJ started to sing my song, I reached over and put my hand on his arm and he pulled it over and held my hand, while I snuffled of course. Gave me a hug and kiss on my cheek when it was over. He hadn't heard the song in many years, but understands why it is so important to me now, after really hearing the words. (I'm crying while trying to type this, it's so emotional for me.) If there is nothing else I have done right in my life, I raised a wonderful son to be a wonderful man. There were some songs I didn't recognize because he changed his style over the years, starting with POP, which I knew, but then sang country for a few years, a couple of which I recognized and has done quite a bit of gospel, which although very good, I'd never heard. Also, the gospel was done acupella (sp), without any music, just him singing and I was amazed that he could pull that off at his age and really sounded good. :thumbup

If anyone is interested in hearing him or any other artist, there's a website called http://www.last.fm.com. Yes, there is 2 'dots' in there: last dot fm dot com. Put in any artist in the 'search music' box and it'll pull up everything recorded by what ever artist you're interested in. I listened to Rock and Roll Lullaby at least 20 times trying to desensitize myself to it so I wouldn't cry at the concert. It helped a little. Managed to keep it to just a few quiet tears instead of full blown blubbering. Didn't want to be an embarrassment to myself or my son. But, tell ya what, he got the biggest applause for that song than any he did last night and I am sure there were many ladies there, that Rock and Roll Lullaby, has a special meaning for. It was THAT time in history, sex, love and rock and roll and I'm sure, more than a few, ended up preggers as a teenager. I was terribly disappointed that there was no 'meet and greet' or chance of an autograph session. Plus my camera didn't zoom well enough to get any good pics. I need a better camera!! Will tell son that's what I want for Christmas. ;-)

Son said, that had to be the CALMEST concert he has ever been to. Considering he was the youngest person there at 38. Everyone was my age or older, mostly 50's and 60's, but some older than that. Yeah, I had a great time and knowing he enjoyed it too, makes me even happier.

On the way home, the classic rock station I listen to, was doing 'hair bands' of the 80's and 90's and of course, that's Jared's oldies music and was lovin' it! Singing to everything. I think I'll check and see when any of those bands will be in the area and take him. Of course I loved them too. :-D Motley Crue, Def Leopard, White Snake, Poison, etc. Just found out the Eagles are coming, but the $500 price leaves us out! :o Sorry, unless I have access to the afterparty, unlimited food and drink and partying with the band, I ain't spending that kind of money for anybody, even if I could afford it. :o

My BFF is coming in April for a week. It just so happens that David Cassidy will be here in NC at that time. For those who don't remember, he was Keith Partridge in the Partridge Family TV show. Anyway, BFF had a grand crush on him as a teen and wanted to see him while she's here. I did some research and watched some of his videos from his performances earlier this year. They sucked. Not worth the money or distance to go see. She saw them too and said not to bother. So instead, we're going to the long running, midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show, in costume of course! Will have to take pics of that. :thumbup :-D :-D

Gotta get to WM before the pharmacy closes.........

Re: 11/10 Lucian AMPS 506,+7/118

I was more of a Bobby Sherman girl... but I still know all the words to "I Think I Love You" (David Cassidy)

I loved reading all of the details of the concert. I am so glad it turned out to be all that you dreamed it would be. Your son sounds amazing. Good job there Deb.

Amazed how he came down from this morning, no R either! :thumbup OOOPs, yes, he DID get R. I had forgotten. ohmygod_smile

I had a MAD crush on Mark Lindsey, lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders. I always liked 'em tall, dark and handsome. Never cared much for blonds like Sherman or Shaun Cassidy or David either, although he wasn't blond. I thought they were cute, but Mark Lindsey made my 12 y o heart go pitter pat! I thought he was the most beautiful man ever walked the planet. Had every poster ever made of him. My walls were covered! I STILL think he was THEN. If you saw him today, you could walk right past him and never know it. Most of those teenage heartthobs at least resemble the person they were, he looks like an entirely different man. There is NO recognition there at all. It's spooky.

When I found out BJ Thomas was gonna be here, it got me to thinking of others from that time period, Cassidy, Lindsey, etc. Did some looking up on them. Like I said, you can see the resemblance in all but Lindsey, it's like someone stole his identity and looks nothing like him. I'd never go see him, I want to keep those memories of my childhood crush.

Gotta do some digging and see if any of the 'hair bands' will be around this area. Would be a good B-day present for Jared and fiance', in March.

OH OH OH!!! I'm gonna throttle Lucian!! Remember, he would not get in his new bed unless I put my snuggie in it? Well, I went ahead and splurged the $5 and got one for Patches. Put it on the bed, on the opposite end from Lucian, he sleeps at the head by my pillow. I put him up by his bed to go to sleep. He turns around and goes straight for Patches bed, brand new, no cat smell, no momma smell and there he lays! In HER bed! I'm gonna kill him!!! ohmygod_smile

OMG Deb, you want to hear how small a world it is??? I DO David Cassidy's fan club since 1974 with a friend of mine in Germany. SHe handles Euro fans and I handle US, Can and South Amer. fans. If you want to check out our facebook page the link is below.
He was supposed to do a show in Franklin NC on Oct 19th but he canceled the show. I am sure you know he's had some problems lately with second DUI and owed money to his lawyers and the lousy reviews on Ticketmaster Canada. He did one at BB King's NYC on the 18th and it was a really good one, got good reviews. But it is a 50/50 thing with him lately. Hey I am a fan but not above calling it as he does it.

And as a fellow teenybopper & teen in the 1960's I also loved Paul Revere & Raidrs. Used to watch them each day on Where The Action Is and on Mark and Paul's own show Happening '68!. I even entered the contest to win Mark's ponytail when he cut it off - to win you had to pick a name for he pet gecko, needless to say I did not win.
My number one favs are The Beatles and I have collected on them and waited in ridiculous weather outside hotels, and studios for which either of the four was in NYC at a given time. But I had all the others on my walls: Monkees, Who, Raiders, Yardbirds, Stones, etc.

Nicksmom, you must have been at the meetup in NY when he did the broadway play? I read about it and saw a bunch of pics. Not sure what year that was.

He's supposed to be in Eastern NC in April I think. Watching Utube videos of his shows in the last year or so, I think it would be disappointing. He's a rocker at heart and that's all he ever wanted to do. Being expected to perform bubblegum music that he hates, because it made him famous, would give anyone an attitude. I truly feel bad for the guy, he can't play what he loves, because that's not what people expect to hear. If I heard that he was going to have a concert and NOT play/sing anything from the Partridge Family/bubblegum days, I'd go to that one. I think he'd actually enjoy performing in that situation, but few of his fans would show up, that's not what they want to hear. Time does not stand still, but too many artists from the 70's are expected to be in a time warp and not allowed to mature, along with their music. I find it sad. That and the fact that he got so screwed on royalties. I understand he has a lawsuit pending on that, I hope he gets what he should have, years ago.

BJ Thomas has continuously performed and produced albums since the 60's. He went from pop/rock to country to gospel. His music changed as he changed. As it should be. But he was never the Teen Heart Throb that these other guys were. He was/is an attractive man, but never the pretty boy that girls went crazy for. He was lucky to be able to be the performer that HE wanted to be.

Mark Lindsey has produced since he was 24, he was the producer for PR & R music. He's been producing other artists for many, many years. Been on the other side of the mic for a long time. At least when he performs, it's because he wants to, not because he HAS to for some reason. He was one of the SMART ones. No matter how good you are, the voice, and the looks, doesn't last forever. Plus fans are fickle, there is always the 'next big thing' to knock you out of the running.

The Beatles are another example of being able to change. The differences in their 1st album, compared to their last, was a big jump. Not to mention each of them going on their own to flourish. My favorite album of theirs was Beatles Love Songs, which I still have on vinyl. :-D Have a lot of vinyl actually, but no turntable and have been threatening to buy one for years. I may get me one for Christmas, as a present to myself.

Love talking with you about this, but we are sure off topic huh? Oh well, it's quiet enough in here that we can usually chat about anything without anyone getting pissy about it. :thumbup
