Good morning LL! ~O) ~O) ~O)

Yesterday was at the top of the commuting days! All the gods smiled, your vines helped, and we got home in the best time of 3:20 with no fuss, no poopies or pees (he was probably empty when we got in the car), minimal frothing at the mouth. He got interested in the front seat and checked out the view from the center console (!) for a while, then settled into the front seat on top of my coat. And curled there the whole time. He was breathing fast the entire time until closer to the end. I don't know if he slept, but he zoned quite well, only lifting his head at loud points or twisty-turnies in the road. I think he wanted to be close to mommy. He would have stayed on the center console for a while but it was a balancing point. He showed more interest in the landscape for the first 30 minutes before he went down. I had to keep my arm next to him the whole time. Whew! His BG on arrival was only 335 but he went black three hours later. Delayed stress???

Wow on your commute. I can't imagine doing that on a daily basis... Maybe Leo is settling into the routine? Nice that he wanted to check things out, finally settled into the front seat. I hear too that the rescue remedy etc can make a difference.

oh wow too on the numbers last night. Mannie will do that sometimes to - just shoot up there, reason to me is always unknown. We've gone back a few times too. it is nice to see Leo in the yellows this morning.

Nice sunny start for Leo today after that jump last night. I hope he keeps sliding down and gives you some blue today.

YAY!! Great trip report. I'm glad to hear he is settling in a bit more on the trips.

Sorry I haven't visited lately...been busy here and also in LL.

If Leo doesn't come down today, what do you think about increasing his dose? I noticed that when you started using the calipers and the terumos, you thought some fat was added onto that 1u. He's looking ok on this dose but I'd really like to see if he might like a little more green. Of course, it's important to consider all you have going on with driving back and forth, working, etc. I was thinking since you are home, it gives you this weekend to see how he might do with some extra insulin. I was thinking maybe a .25u increase? It's been a while since he's been in green and he didn't come down that low. Of course, his trip shot him up but I think he was also bouncing.

Your decision....you know all the variables.

HI Michelle - we do this commute about every 2 weeks. It would be every week but lately we've stayed over the weekend in Maryland (I have an apartment down there and work down there, so I go down 4 days a week). Every day would be insane! I'm hoping he will get calmer in the front seat, but I'm wondering if there's some sort of shade I can use with the lights at night. My windows aren't tinted and I don't want to do anything permanent. You know, there are so many condos, and sometimes so little time, that I try to get around and just can't every day. So I jump around sometimes. Don't worry about it - I only get concerned if I don't see someone in several days and then I go looking to see if everything is ok. With you and the Man-ster, however, if you didn't post even ONCE time I would be wondering!

Hi Michelle - yeah, Mary suggested classical music and I'd not thought of that. Piano concertos, oboe quartets, cello sonatas....all very nice and mellow. Then the blaring trumpets came on and I had to turn it down! :lol:

Hi Marje - no worries - I just realized I hadn't been over to your condo for a while and wanted to make sure all was okay! About the increase ... The travel definitely raises his BGs. If we didn't have the travel, I don't think he'd need the increase. I don't think is really "settled" into this dose because of the drama. I steered him that one time he went green because we were getting in the car. But now I know if he's green, I don't need to steer probably, as the car ride will steer for me!!! :lol: I'll think about it. Well, actually, I think I won't. Leo is staying home this week because they are inspecting my apartment before I move out ... and I haven't been paying rent for a cat!!! So I have to remove all evidence. I don't think DH will stay up with him, but I will ask. Wow - thanks to your DBFF - we need all the help we can get. Not in my neighborhood, but certainly many other places. Electricity is almost back on. We have it. Gas station lines are down. I'm hoping our grocery store is off generator power. Probably.

NNnnniiiiicccce! Lovin the yellow, especially since yellows are all about we get lately! Just got a +5 on him ... 241. We'll see if this is a cycle or coming off a bounce and I'll shoot accordingly. Maybe just a fat 1.0.

I am really liking those pants .... shoes are cute too!

Good morning Leo (or afternoon on your time zone!). I was thrilled to hear the horror box was less dramatic this time around. Guess you like classical music and being close to your mamabean! Those yellows look nice today. And those patience pants that Marje sent over are to die for!!!! :lol: :lol:

Well, Marje, I *was* thinking that a nice belly button ring would have made the picture complete. Perhaps one with a green paw print on it? :-D You working those pants, hot mama!

HI Karen - yeah, much better. I bought a soft bed at Petsmart to put on the front seat instead of him using my jacket. Hopefully he'll snuggle in it.

Hi Lisa, just stopping in to say hello and so glad the trip went better this time with Leo. I hope the new apartment will work out much better with it closer to work. I read your answer yesterday but didn't get a chnce to reply. Hope you're enjoyig the weekend. We had some wind and showers today.

Leo, wasn't that fun today with the bakery and Rusty's porch. Glad you handled the ride ok, sis, Mags

Use that extra juice well Mr. Leo. Show your bean what you can do with it.

Good to hear that you had a no excess fluids trip with Leo. Paws crossed you've got the right formula for travel with him. It'll be nice to have a place closer to work so you can check him at lunch time, as well as better sleep for the two of you.

Hi Wendy and Helen - I hope so - he just won't settle down and I debated this increase because he has dipped to blues and a couple greens. I just wish his cycle would smooth out at something less than pink!

So glad your trip was so good! and it helps a little to hit on the music they like, doesn`t it? reuben likes the modern jazz quartet, mellow jazz with vibes... :lol: .... i was wondering about delayed stress bgs also -- reuben was calm and didn`t rise at all for the ultra sound yesterday... but this morning AMPS was a crazy number! Could be something to it... then again, maybe cleaning out his feeding tube with coca cola (just following instructions!) might makie a difference? :lol: Hope Leo gets back to business on this dose! :razz:
