Happy Caturday! Had to turn the house heater on this morning :banghead:. It is 45* outside . Early next week they are saying that it will get down to 33* - this is way too early for us.

Want to share what I found this week. It may not be new to y'all but I hadn't seen it before.
Kit4Cat Hydrophobic Sand

Everything I read says it isn't reusable but I don't know why you couldn't if you were testing for ketones. I bought a bag to try. I also bought these 10-in-1 Dog & Cat Urine Test Strip.

With the colder weather I am thinking about a heating pad for Gizmo. His old bones, I am sure, are going to suffer this winter and thought maybe, if he will use it , it might help. There are several for ~$25 over on Amazon. What do you think of this one?

Lizzie, each of mine have a heat pad and LOVE them . They use them year round :)
Do you have one specific kind or are they all about the same? I really don't want to spend a lot of $$ not knowing if he will use it. He has always been a "hot" kitty, not liking to be under covers or sleep in a bed. He will sleep in front of the space heater or fireplace.

I just got Sunbeam King size electric heating pad ...19.99 on Amazon ... has temp settings and they like the low ...had to get 3 because we had some scuffles due to lack of ability to share

Hmm. Guess I could try the heating pad and see if he would lay on it before I bought him his own. My heating pad has an auto shut off after 2 hours but I can try it. Thanks! :bighug:

I tried a heating pad for Ravan's sister, Peggy Sue. She's Tiny & always laying against the heat vents. She would only lay on it if it was on Low. I mean really low where I could barely feel the warmth.
Then after 10 mins she was back by the heat vents. I guess you'll need to try it. Maybe Gizmo will enjoy the warmth?

If you try the sand let us know. It does look amazing to get a urine sample with.
45 degrees! That's pretty cold for Texas, isn't it? My son moved to Austin 2 yrs ago. He wanted to get away from the cold Chicago weather, but it's seems to be getting colder in Texas too?

Almost noon & it's 22 Degrees here  Way too soon for it to be that cold!

Have a Great weekend :)
