Happy Saturday morning ....whoo hoo we made it to the weekend !
Monet woke me up this morning ready for his ear prick so he could eat. He and his partner in crime (Picasso) were turning over things and making as much noise as they could to wake me up :lol:

Monet's BG this morning was 121, feed him, and gave him his .10 juice. He is acting normal and seems very happy.

I can not let a post go by without asking you experts your advice on something so here it goes ...
Do you think I need to test more today to watch his numbers ? I have done the PM testing after the shot but not the AM Testing. I am going to look at some of your condos to get an idea of timing... But what do you thing would be ideal?
Would every 3 hours be good ?

Here is to hoping all of you have a fanatic Saturday and all kitties get good numbers !

Just one more question...yeah right :lol: ... Chris pointed out yesterday that Monet's SS was not color coding correctly automatically so I went and did it manually. While I was doing it the question occurred to me should I be basing the color by adjusting by 30 since I am testing with AlphaTrak2 ? So for the green level BG 1-99 should that for me be 1- 129 blue level BG 100-199 for me be 130 - 229 etc. ???? Probably not a big deal, but I was just wondering :?:

I think testing during the daytime while you can on the weekends, is a good idea. Every 3 hours should be fine, unless he gets some numbers that are lower and worrying (I guess below 80 on the AlphaTrak) then test every half hour and feed. I don't use the AlphaTrak, but I think if he goes below 90, you should test every hour, if you can. I hope you have a good day.

Sorry, I'm not sure about the color coding. No one else using an AlphaTrak has special coloring for the meter.

Morning Rise,

I agree with Dyana. While you are home and able to, I would get some daytime tests. Not sure on coloring the SS with an Alphatrak.

Monet is doing so good!! Hope you have a great Caturday!!

It's good we all agree! I'd encourage you to get a +2 whenever you can.

As for the color coding on your SS -- The default color coding on the SS isn't based on a human meter. It's in blocks of 100 points. On my SS, a 35 is coded the same as a 95 since all numbers below 100 are colored green.

Just tested Monet @ +3 and BG had dropped to 84 ...yikes these low numbers scare me grr_red
Just feed some food and will test again in an hour unless I hear different from you guys the experts.

you did good! You might even test in 30 minutes, and if the number hasn't stopped dropping feed a bit more.

Just tested Monet @ +3.45 and his BG was up to 119 ... My boy is kind of liking this surfing thing it seems dancing_cat

there ya go!

Now you know that low carb food is sufficient to bump Monet up if he starts to go low. For most cats that is true once they are on such a low dose as 0.1u, but not always so it's good that you now know what to expect. The reason that matters is that now you know he can keep himself surfing with his regular food if he starts to drop. Have you ever noticed whether Monet gets up and goes to the dish on his own when he is low?

Thanks for helping me to understand what all these up and down BGs mean! I will try and start noticing to see if Monet goes to his bowl when his numbers drop ... but may be hard since Monet wants to eat all day long anyway hee hee hee

Just tested Monet again @ + 10 and his BG was down to 94 so feed some good LC wet food. Will test again in an hour at +11 to see if it has come up any

Hi Rise,

Just an FYI - that we like to have our kitties have no food for two hours prior to test/shoot/feed. So +10 would be the time to pick up the food after Monet has his snack :-D This way the PMBG is not food influenced. You can still get a +11, just to see if his numbers are rising :-D

Monet's PMPS was 117. Feed him then gave him his .10 injection.

Thanks Julie ... I just watched the videos of Punkin .... So precious ! The one of Punkin and Anya reminded me so much of Monet and Picasso :smile:

thanks Rise'. they were definitely bonded. anya is still grieving for him - and the fact that we got kittens in august was like adding insult to injury. every single day she tells me to send them back to where they came from! :lol:
