J.D. ate a little more than half of his 1st Breffis, and just finished the rest. I gave him 1/4 cyrpo just in case, as I think once I leave he gets up on the bed, and sleeps all day, although, all those bowls of FF I've been putting out around the house when I leave have been emptied, so it can't be all Ginger. I guess I'm just a worry wart
I did take the ottoman from a living room chair and put it up next to my bed, so his jumping down from the high bed won't tax his legs so much.

He was purry snuggily at just before time for the alarm to off this morning.

My thoughts are with all beans and kittys that need them today. Hugs and Prayers for you all.

It's hard not to worry about them when we can't see what they are doing during the day. I hope you have a good day Dyana.

I agree... Worry wart here too. Someone should create some kind of monitor that would continually monitor BG levels and alert us if there was a potential problem. Is there an app for that?

Have a great day,
Kathie

Good morning Dyana and J.D.
Purry snuggily is soooo nice. And i like the idea of an app that constantly monitors the BGs! Let's have it!
have a great day

Morning JD and Dyana! Purry and snuggly is wonderful! I need that app too! I am a major worry wart so I think you are in good company here! I hate the nights when there is no one home to test, I go out of my mind with worry. Have a great day!

I WANT THAT APP!!!!

I feel the same way - I wish I could have a robot open the can and put down the bowl at least ... he will eat that before he will eat out of the feeder. I don't know why this is.

Have a good day Dyana - nice on the snuggles.

I think there is an app for that, lol...I think there is some type of implant for human diabetics or some type of watch or something that monitors BG levels...but don't quote me on that one because I may have dreamed it or saw it on some television show!

I really love the snuggly purry stuff, especially in the morning...don't want to get up when that happens.

Hope you guys have a great day!

I think J.D. was a pioneer guennia pig for some kind of monitor way back in 2005 when he was hospitalized with DKA, and maybe why they kept him so long, because they weren't finished gathering data... I know nothing really..
They had a harness on him with a contraption attached to the harness and hanging off his back, that was doing some experimental testing (and I didn't ask for what  ) and they said it was giving them data.
I remember them saying, he can't go home until he eats, around the 6th and 7th and 8th days that he was there. On the 9th day, all of a sudden they called me and said I could come pick him up, even though he still wasn't eating.
He came home with a feeding tube. Which he quickly dispensed with (himself) once he was home he ate on his own just fine.

Hi guys .. wow, crazy story on J.D. and the monitor hanging off him .. I'm sure he eats when you are at work .. but I can understand the worry too .. it's cause youre a good mom! Have a great day guys!

Wow J.D. - advancing science! That's pretty cool, actually, as long as it wasn't stressful or harmful to him, that is.

Yes, they have them for humans - it's called Continuous Glucose Monitoring. It could transmit data wirelessly and you could get emails or text messages and know how the kitties are doing! They are available on the market now. Here's a nice overview of a product with some Q&A: http://forecast.diabetes.org/magazine/features/2012-continuous-glucose-monitors
