Hopefully she has finally cleared her bounce off that 20 and back on an even keel again. Atleast her numbers are starting to look more like what I except from her.

Now who's going to join her in the pool?

Feeling very accomplished today. :-D. Not even noon yet and house is swept, litter boxes done, dishes done, wallet and vial of test strips found where the clepto cat stashed them along with seven pens, 4 crochet hooks, 2 lighters and various dust bunnies. lol Also 3 batches of cookies baked and the fourth batch chillin in the fridge and a dozen catnip balls crocheted and stuffed. Now to work on the catnip kick sticks. Want to get them done this week so this weekend I can start sewing the Father-in-law and hubby's Christmas presents.

Holidays have kinda sux around here since we lost Jon's mom right before Christmas, my mom last year on Black Friday last year and my aunt right before Valentine's day as well as having the step daughter addicted to Meth and in and out of jail and rehab. And my two kids scattered to the four winds, so this year I'm determimed to bring the magic back to the holidays but I refuse to buy into the commercialism. So this year I'm making presents, baking up a storm, stringing popcorn and cranberries for garland and pouring my own candles. and decorating the tree with handmade ornaments. Because we both realized that neither of us could remember the actual gifts we got as kids but did remember the kitchen smells, all the homemade goodies and the thrill of going out to cut and bring home the perfect tree. So I'll let you know how crazy I've become after the first of the year. lol

You go girl! I admire your ideas, intentions and energy! You'll make it a beautiful Holiday for your family for sure.

Catnip balls?

Re: 10/06 Autumn amps-109, +4-182

Yep I grow my own catnip. I just planted a new 10 foot by 10 foot bed of it this year. But my old plants are still kicking which is where this batch of toys is coming from. But I use crochet thread like you use for doilies and a tiny hook to make little about 2 inch balls that I then stuff with polyfill and catnip. I'll post a picture later of this year's batch. The kicker sticks are done the same way but are about 6 inches long. There are also catnip pie slices, cupcakes and ice cream cones. lol

Originally I started doing it just for my herd, however depending on if I can get another harvest out of my old plants this year or next year they will be for sale. I also always make a couple dozen to take to the shelter at Christmas. So I'm going to check with them and see if they want some to sell as well and give them a cut of the sells to fund the shelter.

They are very well made and even our 97 lbs drooler can't destroy them. lol

Autumn looks better today. :thumbup

I haven't decorated or done anything for Christmas in 3 yrs. Went to son's last year. I'm 'invited' for Thanksgiving at son's and fiance's, of course that is code for "Will you come cook Thanksgiving dinner?" Had to cook Christmas dinner at his place last year! Fiance's son (13 yo) says he'll cook the turkey a day ahead of time if I'll come Thanksgiving and make Turkey Pot Pie. Earlier this year, I was given a turkey from the food bank and had no space in the freezer, so I cooked it and made Pot Pie for son to take home. That kid will fight you for the Pot Pie! He swears he's never had anything that good and got pissed when his mom ate the last piece. I mean he was downright rude about it! My son cracked up. I've promised the kid to make him another one. :-D Guess I'll have a grandson when they marry. He's a neat kid, intelligent and sarcastic, I like that. Since my own grandchild could care less, I'll just adopt the 'new' one. :-D He only has 1 set of grandparents here, he can handle another grandma. :-D Plus, I'm better with boys, little girls are just obnoxious, including my 12 yo granddaughter.

I just don't have the ambition to decorate, etc. Being alone does that to ya. Why bother? Not like the cats would appreciate it or even notice, except for Patches knocking stuff over.
