November 4th has always been J.D.'s "official" birthday. But, I have to work that day, so we are Celebrating his Big Day, today :-D

I think I'll go to the grocery store later this afternoon and see if they have any in the fish section. Maybe the grocer will cook it for me too :)

and we got lots and lots of fresh catnip for you to take some home with you :cool: We have a very healthy crop this year.

Yesterday's Condo

I got all his feedings in very early last night, and then I just fell asleep on the couch. J.D. woke me up at 5 minutes to midnight by jumping up on the couch and climbing on top of me. I sang Happy Birthday to him and pet him a bit and didn't want him to purr too much (still thinking of what he did Wednesday night), and then gave him a little Bupe since I fell asleep before I gave him his dose last night, and he usually gets it at 7:30am I don't want to give him too much with doses too close together. I then went into the bedroom and got his favorite expensive down pillow and took it out into the living room and he got to sleep on that the rest of the night as a treat.

He did go for a short walk last night as the temperature wasn't too cold. This morning it is raining, so waiting for the rain to stop before any attempts at walks. Right now, he is still on his comfy pillow. I would like to go back to sleep.

Well this is a SUPER BIG Milestone!!! The very happiest of birthdays to the very handsome Mr. JD! He looks as young to and spritely as he ever did to me.:)
You guys have a wonderful celebration and please give JD lots of birthday hugs, kisses and scratches for me! And hugs to you Dyana!

I decided to get J.D. a new bed for his gift. Ginger has been sleeping in J.D.'s beds which is different for her as she usually likes to be up high. I have seen them cuddling in the big dog bed once or twice so far this season as it gets colder. This morning, however, Ginger was laying in the big dog bed and J.D. went to get in it with her and Ginger didn't want to share and snapped at him :YMSIGH: Maybe it's because I told her I would get her a new (laser light) toy a few days ago, and haven't yet. I better pick up one of those too.

I want to get another big doggy style bed to put next to the other one, so they both get one if that's what's necessary. The one sits along side the sliding glass window and door, so since winter's coming, I want to fill it (like the other one is) with self heating pads. Hopefully I can find some of those self heating pads at PetsMart.

Thank you all for coming to J.D.'s Party and for the Happy Birthday Wishes.

At +5 I tested a 145, but didn't think there was enough blood so tested again a second later and got a 190. I didn't think he'd go up that fast, but it is J.D.

Ginger was being obnoxious and kept screaming to go outside and then acting like I caused the rain, then went around the house messing things up, and bugging me to get out of the chair at my computer because she wanted it :roll: I'm bigger, but her will is almost bigger than mine.

It's still raining, but lightly. J.D. just had a short walk in the rain and peed in the mud, and then came back in, and I just gave him a tiny drop of R. He has gone into my bedroom, to snooze (again, which he's pretty much been doing all day), and Ginger is asleep on my bed now too, so I think it may be time for me to try to take a nap. I'll try anyway.

A little walk, a little pee, a lotta nap. Sounds just about perfect for this most special occasion!

This is quite an accomplishment for you and JD. Congrats on taking such good care. I hope you both have a super weekend together. I'd say spoil him rotten but you already do that.

Dyana....you have done amazing with JD!!! For any cat to live to 20 is fantastic but the way you care for him, I fully expect to be celebrating his 21st birthday next year. You are such a fabulous mama!!!
