Here's Farine's spreadsheet : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...dyUlhLeWdVZWg3VVRJT0loSHc&usp=drive_web#gid=0

Alain has been giving her a tiny .10u of Lantus twice daily for couple of weeks, he is now trying to lower the dosage to 0.05... but since this dosage is soooooooo small, he cant guarantee that the dosage will be completely accurate at each injection.

Farine is currently receiving antibiotics for a urinary tract infection. We have been told (by someone on the main forum), that these antibiotics should not affect her BG levels. Or atleast, it shouldn't unless Farine's diabetes gets better (if the infection was the cause of her higher levels), but then we would know cuz she would simply need to be OTJ.

She got hypo couple of times during the last weeks (no alarming symptoms, only a little more hungry than usually). But when we stop the injections, her levels are'nt stable (preshots are often blue).

How does a tiny .10u of insulin lower her levels from 101 to 38 (see 10/26/2013) and two days later, drops from 110 (or 121, damn Prodigy glucometer wasn't very accurate) to 95?
How are we supposed to deal with these variable results? Her nadirs tell us she doesn't need insulin anymore, but her preshots aren't that encouraging.

The infection and the ABs can effect her BG, to know if she is ready for OTJ you will have to wait until the ABs are finished,.

As for the dosage, many of us use a digital caliper to measure the actual amount of insulin in the syringe. Here's a link for the technique. You probably couldn't get the one most of us order, but you should be able to get something similar.

Good luck and i hope she goes OTJ soon.
