What should I do here?
I have to leave (am actually late and about to be in a mess.) and I don't know whether to dose him or wait til later.
I was going to give him 1.75 but he was 128 then 103 and I don't know whether to give him his insulin or not.

I think you were fine to skip. You don't have a lot of data yet to help guide your re. how Tommy does with low pre-shot values.

I would suggest that you lower his dose tonight to 1.75u given the 39 yesterday.

Hi Karen

I haven't had a chance to welcome you and Tommy to Lantus Land. Glad you made the switch from PZI. I hope that Tommy is not a Type I diabetic....it is rare in cats but does occur and he is very young.

When you have a chance, among all the resources we have that you can read, you might want to give a quick glance at Making the Most of your Lantus TR ISG Experience.

We are happy you all are here and we are glad to answer any questions you have.

Whenever you get a chance, if you could take the "911" down, please, we'd appreciate it. Let us know if you need any help tonight and good luck with the reduction.

Holy Moly!!!
He didn't have his morning shot and I came home and he is only 222!!!

It would be a really small world if he were type 1. I am also type 1.

His MAY be steroid induced. We are not sure. We aren't sure the gum infections that caused him to have to have steroids are because of his herpes or the diabetes or if the steroids themselves caused the diabetes. He was kind of sickly before his gums ever got bad.
