Hey folk, long time no post. Thank you to @Suzanne & Darcy for your kind message on my last post. No, I couldn't post while I was away, and it has once again taken me a while to find my rhythm to post now I'm home: I've had a really rough and full on couple of weeks.

I did run a curve a few days after getting home and it was great, I wasso pleased! Lovely strong curve with beautiful nadir, so I left her dose the same. But the next curve was today and it was awful.

Unfortunately Minerva's tummy issues have returned, again, in between those curves. She is being fussy, acting hungry but rejecting food, then sometimes later on rejecting different food but eating food she rejected earlier. She is eating, just not as much. I haven't taken her to the vet: last time they ran every panel they could think of including a sterile urine test and everything was fine so they prescribed nothing, and then after a couple of weeks of playing desperate kitty buffet and chucking out so much food she came right and started eating normally again. I can't afford to pay the vet for tests and not get any treatment, especially when she hates it so much, so hoping she comes right like last time, but I will take her if she doesn't improve soon - especially with a day like today.

I'm not sure what to do. She seemed like she was improving but then today she has eaten so much less than usual, been extra extra fussy, and has been running high all day to boot. I'm out of ketone strips so will get some tomorrow.

To top it all off, I'm off again on Wednesday for about 6 days, and then home for only 2 or 3 days before I'm off again. That's the last of my work travel for a long while but the timing is terrible for me to go away.

I am doing such a bad job of looking after her, I know I should be testing more and posting more but I'm only just keeping my head above water with all my obligations as it is. But I desperately want her to do better and feel better and would love any advice I can get.

(Of course only a couple of days before this episode I caught myself thinking how pleased I was that she was eating so well, not rejecting anything, not being fussy at all. I tempted fate!)

@Wendy&Neko, you've been so kind to me so far, I'm hoping you don't mind helping me out again? Thank you.

What do you think about trying a 1.75 unit dose, at least until you leave for your next trip. I've not seen anything on the spreadsheet under 200, it's possible she has some glucose toxicity building. It just means her body is getting used to higher numbers.

I can relate to the fussiness and thrown out food. Did the vets ever run a GI panel? It tests for cobalamin (vitamin B12) and folate levels, if not more. Some cats are low on B12 and supplementation can help, but you don't want to give unless you need to.

What proteins are you feeding her? I'm wondering if she has a food intolerance to a particular protein or other food additive and it's causing her tummy to feel off. Maybe try limiting her to one protein for a week or two at a time, to see if you can narrow that down. Chicken, fish, beef are common allergens. Or check the list of ingredients for the ones she's rejecting and see if you can find common items. No other symptoms other than fussiness? I wonder if the vet would give you a prescription for ondansetron (you get the drop at the people chemist, not from the vet), which I find to be a great treatment for nausea.
