Good morning.

Mikan gave me a lime gift for my birthday at the end of the AM cycle yesterday and proceeded to have PMPS 51. We were going out to dinner for my birthday so I opted for a BCS dose of 3U. I tested her before heading out at +1 and came home (the place is 5 min by foot) at +2 to test and feed her. Busy Bday dinner  but everyone was understanding and the kitchen timed the dinner so I won't miss much.

She is starting at pink this morning - time to recalibrate!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

It was a beautiful day! Our neighborhood restaurant.

She’s got quite the timing for mojitos! Happy birthday, Mom :D
I guess she was trying to get you to stay home and celebrate your birthday with her, Kit.
Glad all worked out and you were able to get out and have a nice dinner.
The restaurant looks like a lovely setting. And so nice it’s so close.

Now she just needs a calm slide back down to Earth and a line recovery day:rolleyes:
Wishing you a very peaceful day with no antics :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci,
Why this timing! was my first thought  but I think you are right - it was her way of celebrating my birthday :p
I set the timer for me to step out, but I kept looking at the watch - I enjoyed but it was distracting. But you know, one can have multiple birthday dinners, right? I'm thinking of declaring that this is my birth-week. We can sneak out in the evening when Mikan's stable ;)
It is really a lovely setting! It's a small place and the menu is limited but the food is excellent. Sometimes, the chef gets carried away - there is this fabulous salad with oranges and berries, but he puts "ant salt" on it. I am not sure what it is, but I would rather live on insect-free foods. I'm sure I disappointed him but we had it without ants (I made sure that nothing was crawling around...). It was delicious!

I hope Mikan gets back on the program quickly and starts working on the juice again!
Wishing you and Ivy a wonderful day, Staci! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Kitties have the worst timing. I hope you enjoyed your birthday dinner.
Hi Carla,
Amazing how they can time things
It was a bit distracting as I needed to come home to test/feed her in the middle of the dinner, but it still was very nice!
Now, time for Mikan to get back to work!
Have a wonderful day, Carla! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

First of all, “ant salt” that sounds disgusting. I would have to take a pass on that one as well. Don’t need anything resembling insects or even being named after them in my food. No, but thank you very much.
Creative chefs are great, but I think he could find a better title for his salt or something.
Other than that, the salad sounds delicious. I’m glad that you were able to enjoy eating out even if it was interrupted and constantly checking your phone. Welcome to my life. I do the same thing, I sit with my phone on the table and watch her Libre graph the whole time we’re out to dinner so I know if she’s safe.
If we’re out with friends, they know my deal.
We have one friend who also has diabetes and we compare his graph to Ivy‘s. (Usually his is actually better than hers)

I do think you need to have birthday week. You need it after the past week you’ve had. Much to celebrate and be thankful for!!
Looks like Mikan is already coming back down. Let’s go sweet girl. Slowly and calmly, please.
Hope you both have a very mellow day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hahaha, yes, no ants or any other insects on my plate either! Somehow some young hip chefs seem to go for exotic things.
It's cute that you and your diabetic friend compare the Libre notes :p
You are so right though - worrying about BGs during dinner away is rough, particularly you know it's being low.
Mikan must have been talking to Ivy - that drop at the end of the cycle and starting at the low end of green at preshot - Ivy has done that lately and Mikan thought it was cool. She wanted to try it out.
Fortunately, the super nice weather will continue for a while, so we'll have another chance for a relaxed eat-out.
I thought Mikan might go high flat this morning but she's coming down gradually. Let's see what she will do for the rest of the day!
Hope you and Ivy have a lovely day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

"Ant salt"??!! Good heavens. I mean it's nice that they're transparent about their ingredients and all, but I can't imagine too many diners being a-ok with ant salt (locally sourced, I presume?:p).
So glad you enjoyed your birthday dinner, Kit -- the restaurant looks lovely. As for celebrating Birthday Week, why not? -- and heck, why not even Birthday Month? How many times are you going to turn whatever age you are??:joyful:
I hope you and Mikan have a beautiful and easy day today! :bighug::cat::bighug:

I like how you think, Karen! :cat: Birthday Months! Hey, double the age!
Locally sourced ants.... We do have plenty around here, but I might demand next time that I want Imported from Italy Organic Ants! :p

OK, I had to google it ... and yes, it's a thing (beware, grasshopper salt may be next):
Wow. Interesting. But seriously, why mix bugs (and worms? Gross!) with salt? How about mixing slugs with salt? They'll melt away!

Mikan did okay, considering she dove into lime midday yesterday and she had a BCS half dose. I'm hoping that she'll recalibrate and readjust quickly and get back to work!
Hope you and Chispa are having a lovely day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm glad you got out for a bit, but feel bad about all the anxiety. Hope Ms Mikan clears her bounce quickly and safely; looks like she might be by this time.
Ohhh I looked up the ant salt as well......

Hahahahaha :joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful::joyful: Totally agreed! The server wasn't surprised at all when when we requested not to have it. A lot of people must feel the same way we do, Christine!
Yeah, it was a bit distracting, for sure. But glad we were able to do it and Mikan was fine and enjoyed some gravy
I was expecting her bounce this morning to be worse. Happy to see her coming down to blue.
Hope you are having a nice day! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

She was really flexing!
I retested with AT3 and it was 51. Either way, gravy time
I wish she didn't have to be that extreme! Glad we got through!
Whoa!!!! That was some night!!
Extreme sports girl at it again. Yikes in the 30
Hope she recovers quickly and stabilizes easily, Kit.
Sending you :coffee::coffee::coffee:
You must need coffee today!!
Safe surfing Mikan and Kit :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Gosh, tell me about it! She really pushed the envelope
This time, I did MC and high LC - didn't use HC, hoping that I could manage this way to avoid an extreme bounce later.
It took longer this way but hopefully, it made a difference (even though she ended up in pink anyway).
I appreciate extra coffee :coffee::coffee::coffee: I sure need them!
Hopefully, she'll go easy on me today! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
