Hi Everyone,
Thanks again for all of the welcoming support yesterday
I do want to thank the others that posted later in the day, and I of course have a few questions, which I will ask later. But right now, I'm at work and I'm a little concerned and wanted to get some opinions.
I got an email from our Vet who said that he recommends, as does a colleague that he highly values the opinion of, to wait a month before starting insulin.... A MONTH! He wants to try the diet change first, and to stop the steroid, and do random BG tests, as well as another urine test in a week or so. I told him that I really don't want to wait that long, and I will probably test a couple of times per day... Admittedly, I have not been sitting at home this past year longing to start injections again, but now that I'm faced with the diagnosis, I don't want to wait too long either. I want to give Bubby a fighting chance at remission. how long would you wait before pushing?
Bubby was OK today, but he did not get out of bed this morning, and I don't think he ate anything until I went to check on him at lunch time. He ate some, but not a lot. His BG was 327.
Back to work... I will write more later, and visit condos as well. Oh ... and the Vet was surprised that I knew anything about Dr. Pierson's food list
Hugs,
Kathie
