Installed new libre.

She gave him k-pec liquid for diarrhea. She also said a probiotic was fine. She said sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. I'm hoping it does. She shaved his back area so if he has anymore accidents, nothing will get stuck.

His BG have been off the charts the last 48 hours. I'm going to go ahead and return to 1 U every 12 hours after this evening (this evening will be 6 cycles). If I shouldn't, please advise.

He has gained some weight back.

Feeding tube is going so much better with both food and meds.

I will start the probiotic when they come in.

She said she wants to focus on getting his weight and calories back up. We will revisit supplements as he continues to improve. Is this reasonable?

Thank you for everyone for all of your assistance. I'd be lost without you.

When Chai had horrible diarrhea I gave her 1/4 teaspoon psyllium powder, SBoulardii and Visibione. She was also restarted on prednisolone but it had not dine anything before so I think the probiotics really did the trick. Good luck. I’m glad there’s improvement in some areas.

I'm trying to order a Blood Ketone meter. Saw these 2 suggested here from this link.

https://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/thr...oacidosis-dka-and-blood-ketone-meters.135952/

Looks like I will need to order as I don't see any near me. Because I've never poked him, I'm a little worried. I would like this to be as comfortable and non-intrusive as I can be.

Neither meter seems to come with strips. I will need to order those separately. Has anyone used both? Pros and cons on either? Do I need a lancet too?

Once I figure out which one to order, I'll place the order. I will still continue to try and get a strip under him. I don't want to stop him from using the restroom tho. He's all of the sudden shy or not trusting me. Before, he couldn't have cared less.

I'll also hold off in the increase of insulin until I have a ketone result as someone suggested.

Even though I have the 2 negative ketone strips, I wasn't able yesterday and I haven't yet caught him going today.

Thanks in advance.

I posted on your other thread as I didn’t realize there was a thread for today. Anyway, I used the Nova Max Plus blood ketone meter after my boy went into DKA and had hepatic lipidosis. Ordered from ADW Diabetes Supply.

I started this because of how long the other is and attached the link for the other. I read in a note somewhere we should do that. Sorry for the confusion.

Is there somewhere on the SS I could add a column for ketones test results? I searched the question and didn't find an answer. I don't want to start changing the format of we have a spot to put it.

Also, would you now up his insulin since we have negative ketones and 6 cylces?

I added a column to my spreadsheet for the ketone meter readings. It was very helpful to me to see and track them. I have seen several people do this. It is easier to read/track. than putting it in the notes/remarks.

He's at 222 right now. Lowest he has been in 3 days. UGHHHHHH. I didn't adjust his dosage either. While I am definitely happy it is going down, it makes no sense to me, unless this is just what diabetes does.

Okay. Thank you. I didn't want to change anything without discussing.

Agree. Thank you. Can I just copy your column? I am using a phone and it isn't easy to navigate the editing.

Look at that lovely string of blues last night! This is good. He bounced a bit (the high numbers) but I was very optimistic last night when I saw the yellow number that he was on his way down.

I started a new thread with this mornings BGs. I thought he was on his way back down too.

I read some rules last night and now understand how my subject line should read and how we should start a new post each morning.
