10/8 ?…Somatasatin for Acro treatment

Does anyone have a cat being treated with this? In studies done by RVA it does appear to help some cats (3 in a study of 8 and I know very low numbers for any statistical significance). But I just wondered if anyone here knew anything about this med. I am still waiting for Bootsie’s results.
Thanks

As far as I know, the only people who had their cat treated with this drug - pasireotide (Signifor by Novatis) were those that had the drug paid for as part of the trial. It is astronomically expensive. Check out this post with prices in the US. It was slightly cheaper in Canada when I checked, but still too expensive. Unfortunately, some vets have read the paper and think it's a viable option for people with acros. Until they see the cost.

Thanks Wendy for the info. From what I saw and read it was not really anything that fixed the problems with Acro. I was just curious..
