I am very happy with Simon's AMPS this morning. He went pretty low last night and was happy to get all the extra food even if it came with extra poking. Unfortunately, the late night poke fest caused me to wake up 45 minutes late for Simon's shot because I failed to set the alarm. Cleo was trying to get me up with her meowing but I thought she was just being a pest. I didn't know she was my alarm clock! I went ahead and gave Simon his insulin and will give his PM shot a little later so I can get back on schedule.

My mission today: to find some lc cat food that Simon will eat and that will also not cause his food allergies to act up. Since I switched him back to FF chicken because I ran out of wellness, he is scratching more. It may also be because I had to switch back to Fresh Step cat litter from World's Best Cat Litter due to Simon defecating outside the box. He is very happy with Fresh Step and is back to going in the lb, but I think it may be contributing to his ear scratching. Other than that, he is happy and purring and relaxing on his favorite chair.

Hi Georgia, Nice cycle for Simon, but so sorry he's back to scratching. Good luck with the foods issues. Someone here yesterday was going to try Blue Wilderness. Was it you, by any chance? I'm still searching for the right fuds for Maggie also. In Christie & Willy's condo yesterday, there are some great links on updated foods. Well, isn't that wise of Cleo to be the alarm clock for you! You probably needed the extra sleep, and you'll get back on track in no time.

Very nice AMPS for Simon.......sorry to hear the itchys have come back :sad: Have you tried Merricks Before Grain foods? When Zoe started showing a sensitivity to fish, I tried the Merricks BG and she likes it and does well on it..... Good luck in the foods search!

Because Champ has occasional allergy attacks, I switched him to unscented Scoop Away. I've only been able to find it at Petsmart. Petco also has an unscented clumping litter that is very good. It comes in a plastic bucket (like Scoop Away used to and I think Fresh Step might still). You can refill the bucket at Petco if you like living "green" and don't want to keep throwing plastic in the landfills. It might be something to try with Simon since it's usually the added perfumes that cause the allergy reactions.

You are such a GREAT mom, Georgia. Simon also looks super today....nice in the 50s surf.

I really hope you can figure out what is causing him allergies. That's a tough nut to crack.

Simon is doing his "dropping low in the evening" routine. I guess I'll be up for longer than I planned.

Ann, no it wasn't me asking about the Blue Wilderness but I do remember reading a condo yesterday where it was mentioned.

Sherry, I haven't tried Merrick's before grain. Is it sold in the stores, like Petsmart? I don't ever remember seeing it.

Patty, thanks for the advice on the Scoop Away. I need to find a litter that is not scented, but one that Simon likes. I'll give it a try next.

I wasn't expecting this kind of action tonight. Simon usually comes up nicely once I feed him an extra meal of lc food but not tonight. I just broke out the mc food and will re-test in another 30 minutes. I switched him from the FF this morning to EVO and wellness this afternoon and tonight. Might be the reason for the drop.
