Good afternoon LL!

Setting up my condo as I eat my lunch...always fun to see how much spaghetti sauce I get on my keyboard! Shasta was a bit quieter and more reserved this morning. She did wake me up at some point in the night and I was not so nice to her when I shewed her away! She's found that if she starts messing with my iPhone (meaning: teeth on iPhone case), I'll "wake up"...but I'm never nice when I wake up like that and you'd think she'd learn...but I guess any attention is good attention to her!

Anyways, her eating has diminished a bit; as has her poop. I cannot tell if the FF Chicken has worn out its welcome or if she's not feeling well...again, I always worry about anal sacs. :-| Unbeknownst to Shasta, we do have a vet visit planned for Saturday, but it's with a new vet. I'm a little nervous that she will put on her worst behavior and he will never want to see us again and then I'm stuck with the vet that doesn't care for us at all. nailbite_smile If only she liked catnip, I'd get her high on catnip before taking her in...but alas, she could care less. Keeping my fingers crossed that she's not too terrible.

Ok, off to get more work done before my classes start up. Sending healing vines to all the sweet kitties and owners that need them.

Oh dear, I'm a little over these home anal sac expressions! and I'm over her crappy appy. Are anal sacs necessary? She doesn't need them, right?! ugh! I wish it were an easy fix. Kind of like I wish it were easy to fix her appy...well, that's easy to fix...give her kibble and high carb crap! But I want her to live longer...so forget that stuff!

Well, she won't get her PM shot tomorrow night due to my students' chorus concert. :YMSIGH: I guess I need to decide what I'm wearing tomorrow night. UGH! I hate choices about what to wear.

OH! I got my baby scale...Shasta weighs in at 10.52 lb!!! AND, I got my digital calipers!!! Now, I need to be trained how to use them!!!!

Got nervous about her +3 number (because she wasn't eating well), so I checked her +3.5...74. Feel better about her now....even though she's really pissy with me (what's new?!)

Ah. Joining the caliper crew. They are quite handy with tiny doses but also good any time.
I usually check my syringe first to see if it's marks are good and then check it again after I fill it ( how do I call 3 drops filling it  )

Shasta , you be good for your bean!
Especially tomorrow.

Hello Rhiannon,

I'm thinking someone needs to make an instructional video on the use of calipers! Seeing as how their are videos for everything else here in Lantus Land! ;-) As for Shasta, I hope she behaves herself, too. She's been acting peculiar, lately. :-|

Hope you and Shadow have had a good day. I'm not thinking I'm going to make it to LL rounds tonight. Still trying to stage logistics for our opening piece to the concert. Hopefully, I'll be able to prop my feet up tomorrow night after the concert and make the rounds on LL with a glass of wine in my hand! :-D

Have a great night! ~Deborah & Shasta

Marje posted a picture of how they use the calipers not too long ago. We measure from the top of the shoulder rather than where Marje measures at the top of the plunger. Good luck with the new vet. And good luck with the concert. I'm sure you will look smashing in whatever you decide to wear.
