Little girl isn't really eating. She feels icky, I guess. I woke up on the couch at 4:15 am because someone was touching me. I assumed it was Blue, but when I opened my eyes it was Kasha - she lay down next to me, touching me. Kasha does NOT cuddle - she does NOT lie down and touch you... Near you, ok. Touching - nope. She needs her space... So, something was obviously up. I brought her some food, even though it was within 2 hours prior to preshot (all rules are kind of out the door with her right now) - she licked at it and then turned away. Tried other food - some licking... she nibbled a little, not much. Had to throw out most of last night's dinner.

I gave her some Pepcid and then we lay down in the bed for a while before shot time. She didn't want breakfast - I gave her the regular dose of cypro and she never really perked up and ate. Freeze dried chicken treats were also a no-go. I got out a bag of Feline Greenies and put one in front of her. She sniffed at it and ate it. Then her eyes opened wide and she nearly lunged at me for the bag - lol... She got one more treat and then I told her we are NOT making a habit of that...

Just before I left for work, I force fed 2 Tbsp Wellness - but it wasn't even really forced. I didn't restrain her, just opened her mouth and scooped food into the roof of her mouth and let her eat it. She didn't get worked up or stressed or struggle or anything. Not like she was feeling so bad, but like she didn't mind that much. She really doesn't seem like she feels particularly bad - I just think the chemo drugs are making her feel just under the weather. I hope that improves. Her appetite was really depressed the last time she got vincristine (chemo drug) as well.

My thoughts are going to be with Linda and Bear Man today... My heart goes out to them...

interesting, my cats don't like the Greenies, but glad something gets Kasha excited food wise.
Hope the treatments start to ease and she feels more like herself.

It was nice to read that you found something that Kasha was enthusiastic about. I hope her appetite reappers very soon and that she's feeling better too. And I hope you're feeling better too.

My cats think greenies are God's gift to cats. They don't get them anymore because of Kazi but they still think the freeze dried chicken/salmon are pretty tasty. Hope Kasha's appetite perks up for you soon.
