With a 287 at +3 I thought, okay Shai to to bed. Then I wake up to a 31?????!!!! I treated with HC and got a 34. Then more HC and she rocketed to 85. :shock:

HC is Friskies gravy.

Fitz has a vetty visit tomorrow at 1:30. (That is if the car is out of the shop by then). There is something which occurred to me which might have a bearing. I'm on a prescription cream to replace the moisture barrier on my skin which I can't do myself anymore. Fitz thinks this stuff is candy and licks and licks me. She wakes me up licking me. This is a head to toe deal so there's no way to cover everything so she can't get to me. I looked at the ingredients and there is stuff I recognize as carbs. Could this be the missing link?

I can't stop using this stuff and there's little I can do about Fitzels reaction. I can keep her out of the bedroom but she gets so depressed and won't eat at all until I allow her into the bedroom and cuddle with her.

Does anyone think this might be part of our problem or have I just completely gone off the deep end?

Hi Shai, Fitz is really bouncing, hope she settles down soon. Interesting theory about the cream, one drop of insulin affects Fitz so it seems possible she could ingest enough cream to affect her. I am no pharma expert, if you post the ingredients, others here may be able to help figure out if the cream is a likely factor.

What on earth makes this stuff like catnip to Pirate Fitz?

I've been looking up a few of the ingredients and I can't really find anything that pertains to cats. Doesn't mean it's not there, just I haven't had any luck. I don't know that this is an issue - but she's licking it and licking it and drooling like crazy - I'm really, really damp when I wake up. ;-) :?

@Chris - thanks for the Vit. A heads up. I don't think anything in this stuff is vit. A - no carotenes of any kind. At least not obviously. Thanks for stopping by. And if Tucker doesn't want/need his extra 2 pounds - Pirate Fitz will gladly take them off his fuzzy, beautiful body.

I was going to ask for ingredients and thank you Leslie for asking for them-

Shai- I called my vet and asked about these ingredients ( guess it is a good think when you have your vet's private cell number :) ) He is out of town at the moment but he will have his girls check into the ingredients in the am. I'll let you know what I find out. I hope the car is fixed in the am so you can get to they vetty bean.

YES FITZEL you are going to the vetty bean!! No fighting with the mommy over it!! You will survive as I know you HATE getting into your carrier.... love your auntie nailbite_smile
 
Thank you Aunty Sherry for the query to your vet. I'm very curious to know if I'm poisoning my baby. Even if it is inadvertently. :sad:

I can't believe that +4.5 after her shot she's up 39 points!

The car isn't fixed, so we rented one. And the baby is back to having the runs so she gets to go to the Vetty Bean after Fitzel. ohmygod_smile

It's times like these that I'm grateful for all the blessings in my life - helps to count those and realize they outweigh the other stuff.

What a perplexing problem! I have no idea whether the cream could influence Fitz. I hope the vet appointment goes well! Keep us in the loop, ok?

I still own you an email, I know! I haven't forgotten. Have chatted with DH too and he's happy to try and help, but at the moment he's not getting more than 4 hours of sleep a night - crazy work things. I'll see if I can get him to take a day off this weekend, and I'll let you know, k?
