10/7 Smudge: AMPS 74, +2 61, +3 61, +4 65, PMPS 92, +2.5 61

Good morning Alli, there’s those greens for Smudge. Guess he needed a little break. Hope he’s feeling good and that you got some rest. Have a great Saturday :bighug::bighug:

Just a thought....
It looks like Smudge's AMPS tends to pop up outside of normal range on occasion despite the wonderful run of greens. Typically, the AMPS is the last of the numbers to fall in line so what you're seeing isn't abnormal. One thought, though, is to give him a snack at around PM +8 to see if the food stimulates his pancreas and helps to keep the AMPS in better numbers. I'd suggest a timed feeder (unless you really want to wake up that early!!).

Unfortunately I can't do a timed feeder unless I isolate him in a room for the night - my other cat has CKD and cannot eat his food and vice versa. I always leave him a tiny bit in his microchip feeder when I go to bed so he can have an overnight snack if he feels his body needs it (bc of the DKA past). What time he eats it, I am not sure.

Well, that's annoying!!! I thought I had a helpful idea. I think there's now a timed, microchip feeder but its cost is prohibitive. All I could suggest is an experiment. If, for whatever reason, you get up somewhere in the neighborhood of a few hours before Smudge's AMPS, give him a snack and see if the AMPS is better. Of course, you could always set up a camera to see when he is eating.

I forgot I have a Petcube camera hooked up over his food dish area, but I don't have the subscription set up to see history. I can either sign up or add a Google indoor camera to my account. This just may work. (and your ideas ARE helpful!!!) :D
