Purrdy - SS
AMPS 266 +2.5 248
PMPS 259 (on vet meter, think it was human) +4 193

Purrdy goes first today because whoo hoo, we have a lower blue :cool: so very happy to see that. Don't know whether that is from this morning's dosecrease, the ABs kicking in or it was just ready to happen. Who cares why, it happened!!!

Interesting on the comments about acro tummies yesterday. I didn't realise there was a tummy thing with acro, I was keeping an eye on pot belly for cushings. I will have to see if I can find some pics on google later and see if we have a match. @pollydoodle why was it that you were just trying to stay in yellow and blue before Polly's SRT?

Grabbed a tin of FF classic salmon for Vyk's brekky yesterday, opened it and saw it was grilled (I have been using the other grilled flavours as HC) rather than pate style. Thought to self that I keep hearing that the classic varieties are ok so fed it to him anyway - the numbers speak for themselves, those tins have now been moved to the HC shelf!

Cause to celebrate with Vyktor this morning too - we have poop, after 4 days, I thought I was going to be asking everyone to put on their dancing shoes this morning for the poop dance but you may all stand down :woot:

Hey Rusty, since de Martian party be so close to home I have loaded up dem kangaroos with double loads of da gum leaf likor, I tink dey can take it! Da brewing koalas got so excited that it be an Aussie kitty dat dey made a real special brew infused wif wattle, it be good stuff! See you soon - Vyktor

Congrats on being number one news today Purrdy. That's a pretty blue you got there

Glad Vyktor had his poo this morning. Although I'm a little disappointed that Miss Meows and I had dusted off our matching dancing shoes, just in case, and now we have to put them back. They are on standby if you need our services again though ;)

Way to rock the juice Purrdy!

Lu-Ann sent me a document with a collection of acro pictures, including some great tummy shots. Here it is.

Vyktor's day so far:
AMPS 133 +3 158
PMPS 124 +3.25 56

After his +3 I figured it was safe to go to work and not need to come home for an additional test. It's the most hours I've put in for a day since we started the insulin again - I've got to try and make my annual leave stretch as far as I can, if I run out I'm going to have to go part time which would be pretty dire for the finances. The little buggar didn't eat at all while I was at work! He ate a little when I got home and delivered it to him and then I removed the food until shot time. I was still outside with Meg on the phone to mum discussing Purrdy when I realised it was right on Vyktor's shot time. I raced Meg back in then tested and shot Vyktor, then put the food in front of him. Of course he wouldn't eat it :banghead::banghead::banghead: I insisted and the battle began. A few force fed bits, a couple of voluntary bites and then he lost it, and then I lost it. The look on his little face as he clawed me and screeched at me and I screeched right back at twice the volume:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops: I had to walk away and am embarrassed to admit that I stomped and screeched a bit more on my way. I think Meg is still in hiding, in the six years she's been here she's only seen/heard that once before :oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:. Vyktor and I made up half an hour later and I did get food into him, of course it had to be different food but out of spite I did mix in a little of the food he wouldn't eat!

@Wendy&Neko thanks so much for posting the pics for me. I did have a google today but couldn't find much that was useful. These pics were very useful - Purrdy looks exactly like Grayson from the top view. Combined with his BG results (the race down the dosing and then the complete loss of regulation), his high dose and his labs, which indicate hypothyroidism (more testing needs to be done to confirm but his various issues with skin and missing fur along with a low Gamma GT result all point to that, so many boxes were being ticked as I did some research this afternoon) I am absolutely convinced he has acromegaly and that has caused hypothyroidism.

This is most unfortunate for Purrdy as Mum is not willing to undertake any of the treatment options available for acro. Mum asked the vet if she'd mind speaking to me about him as it's getting a bit too technical for her and the vet was happy to do that so I am to give her a call on Friday. Based on what mum said I don't think the vet has put the pieces together yet (she thinks the low T4 may be a false result) so I will tell her my theory - and also send her the link to Dr Lisa's website since she did give mum a little bit of a hard time about not feeding the prescription dry!

I'm thinking that we'll get F3 F4 free 4 and THS to confirm the hypothyroidism and while we're there we may as well get the IGF-1 if for no other reason than to convince the vet. From my brief research today I'm thinking that even if the acro remains untreated medication for the thyroid will work and alleviate many of his issues. Anything else I haven't thought of?
