We seem to be starting the same today as yesterday. We did have more yellow than pink yesterday, so hoping for at least the same today. I keep trying to remind myself that Jack takes his sweet- :spam: time responding to increases, and sometimes it takes him until day 6 to really get some movement on a dose change. Today is day 4 on the 7 units and we are seeing slllooow movement so I guess Jack is just being Jack with his numbers. He's been pretty active, the house is in an uproar due to Socks (update below) and Jack was a class A Jerk this morning with picking the Dr Elsey's pieces out of the kibble mix. He totally left every piece of the Ziwi Peak freeze dried chicken. I know he doesn't care for the chicken as much as the lamb/mackerel but chicken is better for him. Question for anyone who uses Dr Elsey's- have you been able to get anything besides the salmon flavor recently?? The last two times I've ordered, regardless of the website (Amazon, Chewy, PetMountain...) the only flavor available is salmon. I think Jack fixed it for himself.....

As for Socks- that is a mess. We literally spent all day at the vet clinic yesterday. They put us in a room and the vet was basically a ping-pong ball between us and regular appointments. End result, no definitive diagnosis. He had to be given a 'kitty magic' (combination of Dexdomitor, Torbugesic, and Ketamine) shot to get a good look in his mouth. He has several teeth that have tartar and swollen gums around them, but he also has several lesions not by a tooth and one on his bottom lip. All are bloody and creating this very foul smelling drool/saliva to come out of his mouth. He had his mouth flushed, xrays, and a blood panel done. He got a shot of antibiotics (Convenia) but also came home with another, better antibiotic (Clindamycin) but since he's in so much pain, I have no guarantee I can get it into him so thus, the shot. He also got an application of a topical pain med designed to last 4 days (Zorbium) Vet said the visual and symptoms don't totally match tooth only issues nor a cancer diagnosis since he has a good roof of mouth, as well as under tongue. She did say that sometimes cats with kidney issues exhibit mouth sores but he was just at the vet for his well pet visit in February and although obese, was pronounced to be in good health. He had a good exam at that time, bloodwork was fine, mouth and everything else normal. This was literally overnight....so I got the 'cats are excellent at masking pain....' lecture for the millionth time. He's not eating....anything.....even tuna fish...so if he refuses all attempts again I am going to give him a dose of an appetite stimulant I have left over from Sage (Elura) He's acting stoned, that is probably from the Zorbium, but he must eat. He hasn't had anything substantial for the past few days and I am worried about fatty liver syndrome. I force fed him 3 mls of water and 3 mls of watery pate this morning before I gave him the Clindamycin, but that was a nightmare. He really needs to eat on his own. I'm waiting for the blood results to be emailed to me and I'll try to catch up with everyone later. I did ask them to send everything to the emergency clinic just in case I end up there over the long weekend. :arghh:

Hope everyone is having a better weekend than we are here....

Oh gosh Christine. Glad Jack is showing some movement on his dose.
Sending you many prayers for Socks and a big hug for you. I know you must need it. Praying for Socks to eat very soon and feel better.
Thinking of you and your family :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Jesus Christine I feel so bad for Socks and you. I hate to think of him being in pain.
Saying prayers that Socks starts to eat anything on his own. Sending you lots of hugs and kisses for Socks and Jack :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks all, Socks did not make it. He joined his brothers and sisters over the Bridge yesterday afternoon at the emergency clinic. :rb_icon:
