Oy vey. Excuse me while I scrape my bouncy girl off the numbers ceiling. ohmygod_smile ohmygod_smile I knew she would be throwing some eratic numbers but it's always hugely uncomfortable to see them on the meter. And then they have to be transcribed to the book. And then to her SS. Every acknowlegement makes them realer and realer - (even if realer isn't really a word

WCR - all in place except appy. I'll be calling a new vet on Tuesday and see if I can get a visit for the Pirate. This vet seemed not to mind home testing, but that was when I was in with Amma - doesn't mean she'll feel the same when I'm actually talking about Fitzel. We'll see. Keep fingers crossed for us.

Fitz is still in love with her nippy nanner. :lol: Her playing quotient went sky high - as I'm sure her mind did - my little psychedelic kitty. Have you noticed that a stoned kitty is a compliant kitty? Makes it easier to test her. ;-)

Hopefully this bouncy, bouncy will fade out soon - and none too soon for me.

You need to consider the 'nip as "medicinal 'nip" ! :lol: It's a good thing, as Matra Stewart would say.
I'd always give Tucker and Sophie lots of catnip before I'd clip their toenails. Now that they don't normally like.
I gave my vet a tongue lashing about testing and FD, since he did it wrong. I told him how it was going to be and that was that. You can do it too.
I did print up all the info from here and gave it to him to read. I don't know if he did, but I think he's OK with me now. Good luck to you!

@Chris - thanks for the support re: new vet. My old one was so angry with me for home testing. He almost yelled at me over the phone. Really don't want to return there. Uh, uh. So off to the new one with high hopes.

And what's with the Pink, Pirate Fitz?? grr_red grr_red Pirates don't wear pink! Not even girl Pirates! angry(2)_cat angry(2)_cat

Ouch! That stinky pinky is ugly, Fitz. That is awful that the vet was angry that you are home testing, maybe because of loss of revenue?

I think you're right Liz. It HAS to be a loss in revenue. Otherwise they'd be more interested in the health of the kitties.
I think you can usually tell which vets truely love animals, and which ones do it as a job.

Sorry Shai...I'm still trying to think of why she is doing this :( I do think senior blood panel will give us some answers.
 
@Liz- Stinky pinky is right. So she came all the way down to 299. :cry: The vet who Dx Fitzel dressed me down big time when he found out I was home testing. He actually said that if I continued to do that and adjust her insulin on my own without his approval I was killi g my kitty and is that what I was trying to do. The specter of that conversation rises during times like this because I've lost any control she had on her diabetes and seems to be spinning off the charts. I feel like I'm losing this battle. And if I do - she does.

@ Sherry - I wish I could figure this out. I don't think the insulin is bad or she wouldn't have crashed off it. I will be calling the vet at Best Friends on Tuesday. I'm hopeful she's still okay with the home testing or I'll have to go on the hunt again.
 
@ Rhiannon - I wish it was dry food. Heck I wish I could blame this on a mouse. Honestly I can't imagine as much as she dislikes the baby that she's the issue. Perhaps a blood panel will give some clues. I feel so lost and I can see the violent swings in her BG is really stressing her out.
