Hello Lantus Landers,

Smokey had a great day yesterday and was a happy boy. Unfortunately the LB issues are back a bit... this could be because he didn't eat as much of his food last night (which had the psyllium in it) because he had gotten an extra half can of HC during the day. Oh well... we are making progress I guess.

The FlortiFlora arrived yesterday and I used a packet on Smokey's food this morning. OMG- I thought he was going to choke he inhaled his food so fast! He must really love that Animal Digest! I tested him at +1.75 and he was at 100 so I gave him some more high carb. It might be time for a dose reduction but I'm probably just being paranoid. I'll do a curve this weekend to see what is going on. It could just be the he is dropping earlier and surfing but I need to know!

Hope kitties are kind to their beans and surf on the lower floors!
 
Hi guys ... sorry to hear the LB issues are back .. but like you said, at least you are making progress .. glad he is loving the flortiflora so much! And these numbers today are looking nice too .. Hope you guys have a great day!
 
I'm going to have to order some of that FortiFlora. I'm using a probiotic and I'm sure it's doing what it is supposed to. But it doesn't seem to enhance the food any, not that I have tried it personally :lol:

Linda- I ordered from ProbioticSmart through Amazon. They sent me a sample of their Intelliflora to try. I looked it up and it has Maltodextran and Sucrose in it (no go for the diabetic!). The FlortiFlora has "Animal Digest" in it- whatever that means. But apparently, it is the stuff they put on dry food that makes cats crave it. What probiotic have you been using? Does it have sugar in it? I saw another one at my local pet store- but it's got dried pineapple in it- again, not so good for the diabetic....

Those are nice numbers, Smokey. Great story about the Fortiflora. It must be addictive!! Hope it does the job. Does Smokey like yogurt? Plain, non-fat, Greek-style yogurt with active cultures also works.

Sorry, about the LB issues returning....but a little bit of progress is good. Not bad numbers for Smokey. Zoe felt the same way about FortiFlora too.....not so much right now, but she usually loves it. :mrgreen:
 
Also sorry SMokey is having LB issues again....Hope the fortiflora works....my cats turned their noses up!!!!

He's looking great today!!
