Evening.
sitting here with Shadow enjoying the fire in the fireplace.
Sorry I've not been on much this past week. It was very busy. And I'm always a few steps behind and a few $ short....
My burn on my hand really took it's toll this past week... things took longer to get done.

I have not given any Cipro or ondansetron yet. I've just been paying attention.
She did throw up some liquid last night right before bed and didn't want to eat her food. I gave her a dose of Pepcid and kept showing her food to her. Got up right before lights
out and gave her a different food which she decided was a better choice and she ate a bit of it.
It was pretty chilly in our room last night so I'm not sure if she just didn't want to eat any more in the night or she just didn't move.... all nice and snuggled in her little plush
doggy bed. ( which sits on her bathroom rug that she laid on all summer  )

I haven't caught any more odd highs either like that 172 we had on Sept 22.
Wish I knew what /why it was...

Today is day 340 OTJ. Will we make it to the 1 year mark? nailbite_smile
I feel like we might.

Shadow is scheduled for her first Ultrasound this coming Friday.
Part of me feels like canceling...... but I tell myself at least it's a good baseline for the future.
I'm going to go see if I can't get my DH to scan my labs so I can post them. ( today or tomorrow)
I've waited for a week now...

Very nice normal numbers for Shadow. That one year is looking pretty hopeful. Fireplace already? Brrr.

What part of Shadow is getting the ultrasound? Neko had a heart ultrasound that showed nothing, but I'm happy to have a baseline. Is she going to have to join the shaved belly club? The place we went has a special jell so Neko kept her hair. Yeah! But it was stinky.

Sending along a bunch of appy vines to your place.

Hi Rhiannon,
Sending tons of good appy vines to Shadow and healing vines for your hand too.
It's good you are getting an Ultrasound done for her.
Both my cats got it done, Lucy's done it a few times, and results are always helpful, even when they didn't find anything in particular, that's good information too.

Nice number for Shadow today. I hope everything goes well with the ultrasound. Sending prayers for your hand to heal.

Hi Rhiannon and shadow, how are you guys sorry haven't checked in much, Lucky doing awesome, nice having a life again. Nice # for shadow sending appy vines to ya hope all is well, yes are winter is coming even down here in Oregon coast, that Typhoon was horrible we had.

Fireplace?! :o It was 90 here yesterday.

I just looked at your profile and video Shadow is gorgeous! My cat before these guys was black & white, but male. They are awesome. It sounds like you have plenty of your own going on right now.Hope her appy perks up. They sure keep our hands full. I have really appreciated you checking in on us this week. You have shared so much helpful information and support. So thanks for that.
And sounds like you have a wonderful Annifursary approaching. How exciting!
What a miletone to look forward to.

The U/s is on her belly region and I will get pics of that belly. ;-)
Can't really tell why her appy is off and on so much. She does seem to eat better after a Pepcid so I'm suspicious that we are at the beginning phase of something.

I did just give her some ondansetron.
I assume I should wait a little bit before giving any cipro.

Hi Rhiannon,
340 days! Awesome!! I know that Shadow will keep it going. I hope that the u/s will give you a good idea of whatever is bothering her. Have you ruled out a pancreatitis flare?

Glad to hear that your hand is getting better.

I guess it must be cold in AZ for this time of year for you to have a fire in your fireplace. Edward has been busy splitting kindling for when the cold weather arrives here.

Have a fine evening,

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Rhiannon. Congrats on day 340 to Shadow. Sending lots of appy vines her way.

Hope your hand is doing better. Have a great evening Rhiannon.

Shadow had the specfpl for pancreatitis back in May and her numbers were all good.... no pancreatitis...
so unless that changed....

I think she just isn't keen on her foods.... since she lived on friskies turkey shreds and cheese in gravy for many years before dx ( which was 14% carb and 299 phosphorus)
and then I was giving her the selects indoors when they were invented... and they were all in the 29-36% carb range. It must have been those that contributed to her becoming diabetic.

I was glad I never had to give her gravy when on the juice....
it would have been from the old 14% one.... and she'd probably really be extra finicky if she had gotten that again. ( she hasn't tasted one in 1 1/2 years)

I'm watching hardest for signs of early CKD.
Shadow's urine specific gravity was 1.030.

if a cat is below 1.040, they aren't fully concentrating their urine as they should be.

The vet thought that was because of her being on a canned food diet and won't worry about it until it's lower than 1.020.

Hi Rhiannon,

That 74 is a fantastic number! I hope whatever is bothering Shadow goes away on it's own quickly!

Hoping the US finds nothing major ~

Cleo misses her FF big time. I still give it to her (pates) once in a while with the binder added to it.

Day 340 - wow :-D

Jane

So... Shadow didn't want to eat her bedtime foods....
I went ahead and tried the cypro..... expecting her to chew on me in the middle of the night.

I got up at 2 am and she had eaten all her food ( almost 1/2 of a friskies SD turkeygiblets)
So Success....I think. :thumbup

The vet said 1/4 to 1/2 a pill....
Dyana gives a crumb.... ( like 1/16)
I think I had it at about 1/8. That's a hard pill to cut up.

Hi Rhiannon - morning! YAY for a better appy after the cypro. maybe it's just the jump start that she needed. Eat up Shadow! The BG's look great. I think you will make that 1 year mark!

Have a great day today. And I hope your hand is better.
