Recap from our vet appointment yesterday:

Just got home with Oscar from the vet. Everything has to be sent out to a lab, so we won't know anything until Thursday probably. They checked his glucose (guess they didn't believe me lol) and looked at me incredulously about it being 267. I said it was in the 100s yesterday and this is the precise reason I am bringing him in! I mentioned that his anal sacs looked full, so asked for them to express them for me. Afterward the vet commented that they were quite full in fact. He looks to be in good spirits and quite alert now that we are home. Maybe the full anal sacs were causing him discomfort? They were last expressed in December of last year and was noted that they were quite full then too..... maybe my boy has issues in that dept lol.

He was in yellows for most of yesterday until a few hours after the vet appointment. To early to tell if the gland expression helped his numbers yet, but so far it is looking that way. He *seems* to feel better - almost as soon as a brought him home yesterday.

this is a nice run of numbers so far today oscar! Glad to hear that going to the vets made you feel a little bit better ... I sure hope so! Have a great day guys!

That was a very good report Kelly...glad Oscar is feeling better. I bet you will do well to have him checked twice a year for that problem. He is looking so good with his numbers today! Nice! I bet he feels ready to zoom now!! :mrgreen:

Glad to hear that Oscar seems better after the vet visit, maybe the anal sacs do contribute to his numbers. I hope the lab results are good when you get them. Nice numbers today!

+7 is 94.

I just got the new freestyle lite meter in the mail today. Abbott has a program right now that you can get a meter and 10 strips for free to try it out. So far so good. The relion meter was 94 and freestyle was 95.

lol this made me chuckle! It took me and the vet tech to hold him while "it" was done. Was none too happy about it!

pmps tonight is 116. I'll try to get a +2 just in case he drops.... might be a +3 depending on my schedule tonight.
