Good morning everyone!
Obviously I see it's afternoon already, but I've always thought "good morning!" sounds so much nicer than "good afternoon." :joyful: Lou had a beautiful AMPS cycle yesterday, going lower than he's gone in a while, which is annoying when there's a dosecrease threat on the table. It's also annoying that he's been on the beach ever since. He's such a jerk sometimes. I suppose I'm due for some grief from him; it can't be easy all the time in this dance. I'll bust out my calipers and see if I can get either to work. I kind of doubt they will, but it doesn't hurt to try them out.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and your kitties surf safely. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I hope Lou gives you more green soon. Good luck with the calipers.

I'll see if I can find the original calipers from Harbor Freight. They technically worked, but the data on the screen was wonky and would change at the slightest provocation.
Do your calipers lock once you set them? The ones I have lock, but I've found if I accidentally hit any of the buttons when measuring it can mess up the settings and I have to go back to zero and re-set them. I've also found if I hit the battery cover when I'm setting the dose it can mess things up.

They do technically lock via a screw on the side. Looks like the only buttons are on the front (the On/Off and Zero buttons). I'll keep that in mind though. I just changed the battery and so far so good, but we'll see when I try to establish measurements for my syringes. Fingers crossed that it works!

I happy to hear you're giving the calipers a go. They're a little 'touchy' to get to the exact right setting - you'll want to be sitting down and lay your calipers on the counter - take your time and move the little 'wings' back and forth gently to get them to the number you're looking for...then crank down the screw to lock that setting in place - be sure to turn off the back light once it's set otherwise you'll burn out your battery and the numbers will be really difficult to see (the battery dies slowly so the numbers get dimmer and dimmer)...and then last but not least, be sure to turn it on every couple of days to see that it's still set where you wanted it to be...they're really sensitive and the least little bump will change the settings and you won't know it unless you look at the numbers regularly... and reset it. Sometimes it'll get off several numbers at a time - all by itself!

Best of luck to you on this. I love mine!

Well, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be to keep my hands steady (which I never thought was a problem before), but I used them! Changing the battery seems to have solved the wonkiness issue, which is a relief. My measurement for 1u matched what was in the Dosing with calipers article for my syringe, which is a relief. I got my calipers set for 1.25u (which is touchy business, isn't it?) and used it tonight for PMPS. It looks relatively close to what I was dosing, but I think my 1.25u was actually more than what it should have been. And it was probably a bit worse when I was doubting myself. So hopefully this will help steady things for Lou. I have a feeling he'll need an increase, but he may surprise me. Thanks so much for your advice and help!
