After a DKA episode early last month, I've been trying to hold his dose at 3u to see how he does after the steroids were out of his system. His last dose of steroids was on 9/22. His numbers still seem high though (with the exception of a few days when he wasn't eating much).

I'm thinking another increase is needed. Given his history, I'm not sure if I should go up to 3.5u or try 3.25u. Thoughts?

As a side note, I'm going to talk to my vet about trying the FreeStyle Libre so I can get more mid-cycle data.

We usually do dose increases in 0.25 increments. Are you able to get any more night time tests in? It's hard to tell if any of the AMPS numbers are bounces from lower numbers at night.

Based on the PM +2 and +3 numbers tracking the same as the AM, I do not suspect bouncing.

Could you please add which protocol you're following to your signature?

On either one you could increase by .25; if TR, hold for 6 cycles; if no improvement (or he goes under 50) increase again by .25..and keep going up until you see better numbers. If SLGS you'll need to hold for 7 days OR if he goes under 90.

Based on the PM +2 and +3 numbers tracking the same as the AM, I do not suspect bouncing.

I wonder about the blue AMPS on 10/3 and the red AMPS on 10/5. That makes me wonder if he's going low later in the cycle.
