Happy Hump Day LL!! Sending prayers and condolences to Patti and Joe (Boris) and Emily (Tableau). We feel their sorrow and send them hugs and caring thoughts. Also sending out healing vines to Fiona, Zoe, Rocket, and others.

Gracie finally came down into blue last night!!! We hope she will settle into the 1.25u again and start giving us some nice numbers. She "almost" made it to green so maybe soon. She's feeling great this morning...it's cool here and she and Tobes are out on the catio enjoying the wonderful fall weather. She is so darn sassy sometimes that you just have to have a good belly laugh.

Poor Tobey last night...OMG....it was not good. I gave him a clavamox when we got home from the vetty yesterday about 11 am and fed him. When we got home from running errands, he was all muffined up (not like him) and we could tell he was feeling really sick. He ate only a bit of food off my fingers and a couple hours later.....pukus pukus pukus. He was so sick and we were upset that he was so sick. Mike was up with Gracie so he kept an eye on him and Tobey started moving around the house more about midnight and then ate some boiled chicken breast at about 1 am. This morning he is back to Tobey kitten, thankfully. Of course...no more clavamox. I'm waiting for a call back from the vet on what he can have...he needs something for that extraction site inflammation.

Also big adventure last night...while Mike was hanging our new, hurkin' ceiling fan, I was going to run the trash bin up to the cul de sac (we live on a private road and the garbage trucks won't come down here). I had taken my phone with flashlight because it was really dark. I got just beyond our driveway and there, in the middle of the road, was a 3' long rattlesnake. I went back in for Mike (we love snakes) and he came out for a peak and then I just left the bin by our driveway until Mr. RS decided to move along....right into our yard.

Gracie may be giving us a bit of a kitchen pass to finish running errands today; it's our last day off for our vacation and we need to run out for a few things. I am working from home tomorrow and Mike heads back to the airport.

Have a great day.

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Hi guys .. I'm glad gracie came down to some blues for you yesterday, hopefully greens aren't far off! I'm sorry to hear that tobey wasn't feeling so hot after his clavamox, hope the vet has something else he can take .. as far as the s ... goes .. I have nothing nice to say about that .. It's my worst fear to see one of those .. Peter doesn't even let me watch the animal channel for the fear of seeing one .. they give me awful nightmares .. It's an honest to goodness phobia I have ... *shivers*

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Um.... I could do without a rattlesnake in my yard thanks, I had them when I lived in TX- so glad that there aren't any in MN. Gracie had a great cycle last night! Hope you have a great last vaca day and the transition back into work goes smoothly!

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Marge, sending you prayers for Tobey, hope he get better soon. Glad that Gracie tried on those pants. And too bad vacations come to an end, huh...

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Yay, on Gracie getting back to blues last night. Get used to those numbers please, Little Miss!

 on the rattle snake! I'm glad he got out of the road safely, but in your yard! Yikes! That would dampen my enthusiasm for gardening for a while.

Hugs to all, I hope Tobeys upset tumme is a thing of the past and he doesn't need any more ABs.

ETA: Ummm Gwen, hate to tell you, but there ARE rattlesnakes in MN, just not as common. There was one in our campsite in SE MN, it actually struck at the tie down rings on my tent! I slept in the car that night!

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Come on down Miss Gracie! Think blue and green! Sorry to hear your vaca is coming to an end, I hope you get another one together very soon. Sorry, too, to hear about Tobes. Clavamox has a tendancy to make Kibby sick too, so he usually takes Zeniquin. The last time he need AB's tho, he took Orbax and did really well on it - and it's only once a day, which is definitely a bonus with him  I hope Tobey feels better soon.

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Good for Gracie coming back down. Good for Tobey getting over his tummy owwies. BAD snake! I had a phobia too, but worked my way through it when I knew we were moving to the country. I can now be grateful for the presence of a black snake, green snake or any other that is clearly not poisonous. But I draw the line at poison! We used to have a civie, Rusty (GA), who had a thing going with our resident corn snake. Whenever he saw the snake he would nudge at it to get it moving, then walk along behind, harrassing it all the way. DH took snakey away on a few occasions and put it out of Rusty's range, but it kept coming back. I guess snakes aren't known for smarts.

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Hi Marje, I hope little Gracie settles into this dose just fine. Oh poor Tobes with the Clavamox. I'm glad he is okay, but I can understand the worry. I hope the Vet calls with another antibiotic that he tolerates. Sending some feel better vines to Tobes. Yikes on the rattlesnake. I never see any here where I live but maybe at Mission Bay or inland. I hope Gracie gives you that pass to finish running errands. Thinking of you both today.

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Hi there Marje and Gracie....It's too bad Clavamox causes havoc with the belly because it's such a good antibiotic for so many reasons....I'm sending my well wishes to Mr. Tobey!

We just moved in March, but were on a similar property and always ran into snakes. When we first moved there, I was pretty ignorant to poisonous vs. nonpoisonous and found alarm in anything slithering by....within a bit of time and education...I became a fan!

Re: 10/5 Gracie AMPS 246

Good afternoon! WooHoo on the blues for Miss Gracie last night. Let's do it again girl!!

Poor Tobes! I hope he is over it and the tummy aches stay far away. Sounds like he woke up like his normal kitten self, so that is great news.

We have RS here, but mainly in the woods. Copperheads is what we have in town. I have never seen one over 1' though, so 3' would have been pretty cool. Hope you watch out for yourself in the yard!

Have a wonderful day Marj!

Re: 10/5 Gracie PMPS 268

hi marje! icks on the snake! we had one caught in our deer netting over the weekend and my son, the brave one, cut the netting away from it and it was alive.

hope you enjoyed your last day of vacation!

Re: 10/5 Gracie PMPS 268

     on the rattlesnake! nice visitor! I love, and respect, those guys... Impressive.

and poor Tobey! no more Clav for him. Hopefully there is something else he can have. Poor little guy.

I hope that Gracie likes the new dose - and settles into is soon. Right Gracie?

Re: 10/5 Gracie PMPS 268

Howdy everyone....Wed evening....we spent the afternoon out again, got home, squids, foods, shot, and went for a walk. MIke is getting ready for work tomorrow.

The vet did not put Tobey on another AB today. Our regular vet wasn't in and the owner of the clinic feels that if he's eating, not running a temp, not lethargic, and no drainage that he's got inflammation not infection. She said he could have absorbed the suture and had a rxn to it....which our vet mentioned yesterday. We'll talk to regular vet tomorrow. But he seems to be totally back to normal today.

Devon: yes, glad to see blue and wish she'd come back down. Tobes is much better tonight.

Gwen: we always have a few RSs around the property each summer. Just gotta be careful! I could use the rest of the week off!

Roberta: thank you for the prayers for Tobey...he is pretty much his Tobey self today.

Ann: Wish she would do as well as Tess. We don't garden in the part of the yard where he was ;-) That's the undisturbed part of the property that is native desert.

Anne: Well I pretty much have vacation every week these days since I only work once a week   Thanks for the info on the zeniquin and orbax...I am going to ask about those!

Linda: That's a funny story about the snake and your GA Rusty!!

Ann: I hope she does, too....I'm worried about it. And we did finish the errands!

Jessica: yes it is a good AB but he really had a bad rxn to it. Glad you are a snake fan...they are beautiful.

Melissa: I do hope she'll do it again. NOt liking the numbers lately. Oh yeah...copperheads..I remember in TX.

Julie: Hope the snake escaped!!! Last day of vaca ok....last of errands to do. I coulda used a nap

Pls excuse me being MIA tonight...I'd like to spend it with Mike. Have a great evening.

Re: 10/5 Gracie PMPS 268

Hoorah on the blues and yowser on the rattler! I wonder if they are on the move with the coming storm and change of the weather.

We are expecting some snow showers in Flagstaff and Zener is pink in anticipation! Hope Gracie comes back down to the blues after all the reptilian excitement!
