Well that's interesting! Going from 203 at +3 to 96 at +6....What are you up to China???? She's also unusually hungry today. Maybe it's due to the change in the weather? She's being a real sweetheart today though..she spent quite awhile sitting next to me and purring today! China has never been much of a purrer, and it's always a shock to hear her doing it! She's also playing her "I'm lost mom!" game...where she goes walking around the house yowling and as soon as I say "Come on China, you're not lost", she comes running in, hops up on my lap, gives me a head butt and then she's off to "get lost" again. She hadn't played that game in years and in the last 6 weeks or so, she's been doing it more and more. She really is feeling and acting like the China that was 2 years old, not 12 years old...and I love it!!
Today's our little town's "Old Time Apple Festival" when we go from about 1000 people to about 40,000 for one day of the year, so it's a lot of chaos! This year had been billed as the biggest ever, with over 400 booths, live music in the square, figure 8 racing at the Fairgrounds tonight and of course, one of those "traveling carnivals" that drive in on Thursday and out on Sunday
So of course, on this one big day of the year, it's dropped from the mid 80's yesterday to the mid 50's today, and it's raining to beat the band. Since I live less than 1 block from the town square, I generally stay home anyway, but I feel sorry for the venders who really need this to make extra money for the winter and the tourists who literally come from all over to be here. Today's a total washout. When I first moved here, I learned my lesson quickly about the festival day. I drove up to the parade route (with my back as bad as it is, I can't walk very far at all) and when I got home, every possible place to park was taken. We have street parking on my street, and "my" place to park had been taken and the only way I could get into my own house was to squeeze through a little gap between two cars and drive into my own front yard. Now I stay home. I'm close enough to the square that when the live music plays, I can hear it if I have my windows open, and I can usually get someone to bring me a funnel cake (my once a year funnel cake...Ohhhh GOOD!)
With the drop in temp, plus the rain today, it's really put a damper on the whole thing...Maybe I'll get my funnel cake next year
Hope everyone is having a nice Caturday and we're sending healing vines to anyone who needs them!!
