Skipped AM test as Charlie had dental work today and couldn't eat breakfast so wasn't able to give AM shot. He hasn't had much to eat tonight because he had to have a couple of teeth pulled and has some stitches but he has eaten some so I gave his PM shot. Big drop tonight at +2 so I think I'll have to watch closely to see where it goes. +3 testing in about 15 minutes.

Yes. It will likely be an active cycle. That’s good he’s eating. Do you have any baby food? I always find it easy to eat. Was he given any buprenorphine for pain?

I re-hydrated some freeze dried fish & chicken treats and that seems to have stimulated his appetite a bit and I'm trying salmon FF rather than turkey and that seems to be going better. +3 is 91 so I'm glad to see it not dropping more at the moment. No buprenorphine is listed. Just Metacam. For the surgery it says Analgesia for pain management.

When my cats have had extractions I was sent home with bupe for pain. In the US they don’t use Metacsm. I think it’s a different product in Zcansda though. It’s good she’s eating.

Yikes. I was just reading about it and it is pretty scary. One injection with surgery is approved (though dosing level is controversial). Oral is off label for cats and what the vet gave me for the next two days (and suggested for the arthritis). Renal failure can be a common side effect.

It has a black box warning in the US.
