10/5 Blue PMPS 171

NOT giving dosing advice but you never know exactly how many of those morsels she did eat...I know my Waldo was a hoover vacuum he could swallow up anything in his path in seconds. That said I think it also depends on just how carb sensitive a cat can be.
Sigh Wish I knew more about dosing...I was so confident when dosing Trouble but I've lost that gift. :(
 
No problem. I know he only got 3 because that was all that was left in the bowl. Ha ha ha my other cats must have missed the 3 pieces. I was looking at his SS and he's been on .5 for several days but the reason I hesitate is the low numbers on this dose.
I think I need direction on what I should shoot. I have some time. He's eating now.

Wow lol well I wouldnt think 3 pieces would budge a reading off too much.
A couple of months ago I stupidly left a bag of Temptations on the coffee table...Zoe got into them around 2 am she ate the greater part of a brand new bag in less than a half hour. :rolleyes: I was more worried if she ate any of the plasticky paper they come in.:oops:

She never showed once ounce of sickness from eating MOST of a brand new bag. Yet she will vomit her regular food. (I attribute that to hairballs due to finding it in said vomit) Other than that Zoe is well and VERY opinionated reminds me daily and loudly... on a regular basis. :rolleyes::stop::facepalm:

Happy she's healthy. Do you just have one cat? Oh those were the days when I had one cat. LOL I love them all though.
 
Alas, I have only the one cat now. It's not enough, but unfortunately Lúnasa has always exhibited aggression toward other cats. I always had to keep her in a separate part of the house. I found her on a windowsill when she was only about 5 weeks old so she missed out on the key three weeks of kittenhood when her mama would normally have taught her good cat manners. She's always been a bitey little mare too, makes for big fun when I'm trying to check her blood pressure. The back of my left hand is starting to resemble a pincushion. :arghh: The right hand's also looking none too clever.

Looking back on previous runs of the 0.75IU dose, the first cycle has been typically on the high side. No guarantee that the same will apply today, of course, just noting that there is precedent. Also there is always the possibility of some New Dose Wonkiness (NDW).

I'd suggest a +3 test, Patty. OK with you?

That funny but awful to be allergic to cats. When I first had a cat (followed my daughter to the bus every day and waited for her to come home) my doctor said I was allergic. I guess taking allergy meds every day helps. do you do shots? My other sister Sue is allergic to my cats. She gets shots for all types of allergies.
Having one cat probably helps doesn't it?
 
No shots... Zoe is my first long haired cat. All my others like Waldo I could acclimate to. Even Trouble he was a medium haired cat. I had a bit of wheezing and runny eyes with him but not too bad.
Zoe however I just havent been able to. I dont know if its because she has 3 types of fur or what. But if I pet her and accidentally put my hand near my face...UGH I spend hours washing my eyes out.

They do have to keep still, Patty, but they can get used to having the readings done, bit like acclimatising them to having their BG checked. Here's a vid showing how you measure BP using an oscillometric meter, similar to the ones humans use:




This is the meter I use:



Cost a bomb. I bought it a few years ago for Saoirse. There are MUCH cheaper ones on the market now.

Wow, that's crazy but I see where they would get used too it. Did your sugar baby have BP issues too?

Have you tried those dander sprays you put on their coat?

Only mild - Saoirse was IRIS stage II - but the pancreatitis made it impossible for her to take amlodipine (the best med for control of BP in cats). Because I was able to monitor her BP at home we learned that buprenorphine lowered her blood pressure enough so our vet put her on a small long-term maintenance dose of that.

I'm back. Lots of traffic. I will probably test Blue just to make sure he didn't drop too far.
 
Patty. I’m not looking at a computer all the time. I just finished preparing and eating dinner so just saw your question. I’ll check back to see your +2. That will be in two hours right? If you get a +1 I will check in an hour.
 
I think +2 is fine. Give me time to respond please. I didn't know your shot time and you didn’t respond so when you did I wasn’t on. It’s easy for us to miss each other when we post. :bighug:
