The morning started well, a little exciting with the drop at +1. Zoe was quite happy to get some FF Elegant Medley chicken (10%). Then she started the running back and forth to the litter box :sad: and having little "accidents" on the floor......the urine was still slightly pink. So off to see her vet and blood work was drawn and a physical exam was done. Treatment plan is to increase her Bupe to 0.2 three times per day, continue on Clav for a full month and start her on Adequan twice a week. She doesn't seem to be in too much pain, just a little uncomfortable......vet feels this should clear up in another day or so, if not we will be going back.

Her bgs have looked good today!

Hi guys .. beautiful numbers for a little girl who isn't feeling quite up to par! I hope the new med plan works out and she starts feeling better every day!

what nice numbers for a cat that is having these issues. We don't know if Tess had an infection or not just before Christmas , because the vet couldn't get a sample from her either. She was given the ABs too and things got better overnight! I hope things work for Zoe the same way. WE started the Cosequin too and have been giving it to her ever since. I think it helps as there has been no reoccurrence and the accidents she used to have while sleeping have stopped too.

Tons more vines and soothing snowflakes today.

What a beautiful day for Zoe today!!! So sorry to hear she still isn't feeling good. Do they think is it arthritis then? Poor baby. I am sending healing vines and snowflakes your way and hope hope hope she is feeling good as new soon. ((((Sherry))))

I hope they can get a sterile urine draw and culture done. I wouldn't assume "idiopathic" without doing a culture. And it can go into the kidneys if there is an infection present. Good luck at the vets.

Melissa - the adequan is for her arthritis and the glucosamine will (hopefully) also work on the inflammation in her bladder.

Karrie - no sterile urine was drawn because she is already on antibiotics. The ER vet started her on Clavamox twice a day, just in case there is a bladder infection and she will remain on it for 1 month......


Zoe had a rough early afternoon, but then was able to settle in and take a nap.....she seems a little perkier right now.
 
I hope Zoe gets better really quickly!!

Are you going to give her the Adequan injections yourself? If so, what is the schedule they put you on, are you giving the injection subcu or intramuscularly, how big are the needles, and how much did the Adequan cost? Lots of questions, I know!! I'm going to give our vet a call in the next day or so and find out what I have to do to get Champ started on it. Good luck!!
 
I hope Zoe is feeling better! My Mario uses Adequan for his arthritis and it has helped him a lot, but I've also read good things about it for bladder issues, too. Hopefully it will make Zoe feel better ASAP!!

Nice numbers and I hope Zoe feels much better.

Hate to say anything but......a month on clavamox is...a little much???? I hope her tummy will tolerate it.
 
hi guys - so sorry to be so late in posting. I hope that Zoe is doing better. I too amazed at her numbers - wow, and quite impressive for a kitty who isn't her best. Good luck with her treatment - I hope it all clears up soon.
