Hi everybody. I haven't been around for about a week now I guess so I just wanted to update you a bit. Tori has been doing OK. Her appetite has been good with the Mirtazipine. Doug finally got a hold of the Oncologist last Thursday and she wants us to taper off the Prednisolone so we are now giving 5mg every second day. That started on the 30th. It's playing a bit of a havoc with her BGs as I expected and I'm trying to get a handle on it. The Pred sends her sugars up and of course on the days she doesn't get it she goes down. I have decreased her back down from the fat 1.5 to 1.5 and am watching her carefully and will see if that works. She will be going to see the vet on Saturday for some blood work and general check. He found out that we can give the CCNU every 3-6 weeks depending on her labs and how she is responding. So far i think the lump has gone down again some. Maybe it's just wishful thinking. I don't know. We'll wait and see I guess. She looks good and seems happy so that's the main thing.

When I look at her today cuddling on the coach with Ayanna I feel so incredibly grateful. Two years ago tonight she was fighting for her life in hospital with Gastritis, Pancreatitis and Septicemia. She was so ill that she actually vomited up a piece of her stomach mucosa. We really didn't think she was going to make it. But she did. My precious miracle baby. She wound up with a feeding tube for a month and had to go back on Insulin after 2 years OTJ but she's here to tell the tale. Her will to live and brave spirit never cease to amaze me. Now with her lymphoma she continues to fight the way she always has with that same bravery and grace. I am so incredibly lucky to have her here with me. The bond that we have is so special and every challenge we face together only makes that bond stronger.

I just want to thank everyone in Lantus Land for being so wonderful to us over the last couple of years. I love you all and just want you to know that without the support here I don't know what I would have done. Never let the critics defeat the spirit that lives here. It is so very, very special.

Today is a very sad day for me as well because it is the day two years ago that I lost I lost my baby Tiga. If you don't know his story please go to the Health Forum and read my post there. Please tell his story to others so that their kitties will never suffer his fate. It only takes a second and they can be gone.

Please kiss all your babies for me tonight. They all are so very, very precious.

an absolutely wonderful post. I wish you guys the best - you have quite the fighter there with Tori.

I am sorry about Tiga.

And you are so right about the spirit that lives within here. It is unsurpassed.

Glad to hear Tori is eating and feeling well. I hope that continues.

Enjoy every moment with your girl... And I'll try to do the same with my girl...

Sorry about Tiga - time lessens the pain, but we always feel the loss...

Tori is truly a miracle girl. We have a few of them in our FDMB family. So glad to hear that she's holding her own.

(( Barb )), remembering Tiga...

The spirit of so many of our kitties brings tears to my eyes on many, many days. Tori is among those who had an indomitable will matched only by your dedication.

I used to tease friends of mine who check the washer, dryer, and even the dishwasher before turning the appliances on to make sure their cats haven't taken up residence. I remember reading your post about Tiga a year ago and it made me appreciate that this wasn't just quirky behavior on their part.

Thank you for sharing that with us that haven't been in LLthat long. You story of your's and Tori's strength are truly insprirational. I hope Tori will continue her good fight and win.

(((((((Barb)))))) I do remember that incident that took your dear angel's life & am deeply sorry!!
Life is very fragile, and your story may help another person here in FDMB!

Tori is a miracle baby, long may she reign!! You are such a good bean, and have done so much for Tori!
Celebrate her success today..Big Hugs from US!!

Thank you for your beautiful post about your amazing bond with Tori. May many, many healing vines come your way and may you have many
more years with your incredible little spirit, Tori.
