yesterday

Spock is slowly recovering from his double whammy bounce/contraband spike. :-D

Tried to get a weight on him this morning (he needs to gain at least 2 lbs.) and he was having nothing to do with the baby scale. I guess I'll just have to judge it by when I can't feel his spine anymore.

No more door attacks probably because my cats take make a wide berth around his door :YMSIGH:

Patience girl, patience!

Good luck with trying to get a weight! Two pounds is a lot for a kitty so you should be able to tell when you pick him up when he does start to gain. We have a hard time keeping weight on Tarragon and his spine is where I always can feel it first.

Hope the kitties come to some kind of an agreement soon. Better buy extra pairs of patience pants until then.

I'm sure everyone will eventually get used to eachother, but have you considered possibly using a large crate to introduce Spock to your other kitties? Trixie had some pretty violent episodes when she first came into the mix; a cat expert over on PetFinder's message board suggested I use a crate for her introduction, rather than keeping her behind closed doors. Long story short, we got her a crate for a jumbo-sized dog and put it in the middle of the family room with beds, box, food, and water. She "lived" in the crate for a while, so everyone could get used to eachother, face-to-face, but with protection. We took her out of the crate for a couple hours every night, while everyone else was confined (we have 5 other cats); this allowed her to learn the house without the stress of the other cats being on her tail. Over time, we started taking her out with one cat at a time, then two cats at a time, etc, and we played with all of them the entire time. It did take us probably close to 6 months to get her fully integrated into the herd, but she is happy and well-adjusted, as is everyone else. Let me know if you want greater detail on how we did it....

Hi guys .. sorry to hear about the contraband spike .. I hope the yellows turn into blues for you before to long .. I think the idea of crating a new kitty is a smart idea .. to be involved, yet protected at the same time .. Hope you guys have a great day!
