This morning I tried my first attempt at collecting some pee from Simon to bring to the vet since they were unsuccessful in getting any urine out of him. I was very excited because Simon got in the box and I positioned the cup behind his butt. I don't know what happened, but his pee must have been sideways because it totally missed the cup (and it was a pretty big cup!). Darn it!! Now I'll have to try again tonight. I might have to try Roni's technique and get out the big soup ladle!
The vet called me today and said that Simon's bw shows that he has high amylase and that it could indicate panreatitis or kidney issues. I would like to wait until I get the urinalysis back before I start freaking out. Tihs vet is not Simon's normal vet and I am just not that comfortable with her and some of the things she says. Simon has had higher amylase before and it did not indicate pancreatitis and his kidney levels were fine so I am hoping this is the same. Has anyone else had any experience with high amylase?
I asked them to fax Simons bw results yesterday, but did they do it? No!! I'm going to have to call again today.
Anyway, Simon is great and eating well. He actually gained .2 pounds so now he weighs a big 16.2 pounds! At his heaviest, he was 19.
Have a great day!!
