Good Morning, Everyone,

Rusty has a good starting number this morning, ate his first sitting of breakfast, had a good shot, enjoyed his "lung treat" and has been napping in his little bed by the radiator, waiting for it to come on(!). It's not cold enough, Rusty!! Once again, he eschewed his schmooze.

Our carpenter just came to pick up the construction scraps and his trash to take to the landfill. We are so pleased with his work.

Today will be a catch-up day. Lots of bills still to pay, errands to run, lawn to mow, etc. etc. It's a dark-gray fall day. Our outside work just got finished in time, I think. Rusty will be glad to have his garden to himself again (but he doesn't like to go outside much in the colder weather; he's in "rest" mode).

Wishing all a good day. Healing vines to all who need some,

Ella & Rusty

The lagoon awaits, Rusty, you can do it. Ella, you sure have lots of mice stories.  I love that Alice would hunt the mice in Brooklyn but she wouldn't at the camp. I would prefer it that way than the other way around.I wonder what she was thinking.  Have a great day!

WOOT!! House is back to normal and beans are at home!! Well done LagoonMeister.

Paws crossed for a little schmooze later in the day. He sure loves his little bed.

What a great day for all today  :-D  !

Ripley's trying to 'will' the wall-unit heater by her rocker to magically turn on, too. I explained to her it's 85 degrees outside, so no heater yet. She doesn't understand...
;-)

Rusty scarfed 'n barfed some of his dinner and meowed loudly to let us know. I cleaned up his dish and tray and put a little more out (2 small, separate sittings) and he was/is fine. Just a little excitement at dinner time! We all had a good day and Rusty and I did indeed have a little schmooze this afternoon, before dinner.

re/ Alice and MICE: Alice was very smart and I think she considered the mice in the camp her friends (they were large, white-footed mice, not house mice). She had several wild friends: a squirrel in Brooklyn (they actually played together); a porcupine who lived under the camp cabin who she would visit. She was remarkable in many ways and impressively musical. Once, after listening to the Met Opera broadcast, she sang the entire overture to Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro", note-perfect (but without the rhythms--all the notes were the same length!). Her favorite composer was Wagner and she and Edward spent a lot of time listening to Wagner operas together. When she heard Wagner she would come from wherever she was in the house to sit in front of the speakers.

Wishing all a good evening,

Ella & Rusty
