Good evening, L&LL,
Rusty held the fort today while we were leading a paddle on Henderson Lake--a small gem nestled in the High Peaks. The day was supposed to be windy with thundershowers. But the water was mirror-like; it was so calm (and a cloudy day made the water look black--really amazing to see the reflections in the black mirror.). The fall color has faded. It never really appeared after the early maples were so brilliant red. It was a 2-hour drive to get there (one of those places that you can't get there from here because there are no roads in the High Peaks). This evening the rain has begun and the wind is whipping up, so we were really lucky.
Rusty was so happy to see us when we returned. He is such a sweet guy. Looks like his numbers were pretty good today. He ate some of his food (better than none; he saved about half of what was left out for him). Now, I'm heading downstairs to hold his bowl so he'll at least get more food in him today.
