10/4 punkin amps 268 +6/201 pmps 264 thnks for ideas!

punkin is doing great this morning. his amps reflects another bounce - yesterday he was at least 138 at +7, likely below that earlier. he usually hits his lowest a little earlier than that.

greeted this morning with the furry, purry cheering. jackson (DD's fraidy cat) even showed up for breakfast. he gets the good gravy food, so i just fed him next to me and as soon as he was done picked it up. can't let the hoover get ahold of the good stuff! anya is licking her lips and looking at the birds outside the window, punkin and jackson have disappeared.

some evil one of the kitters peed on the guest bed in the past few days. :evil: there was a "waterproof" mattress pad on it, but the mattress has some smell. anyone have brilliant always-works suggestions for getting it out of the mattress?

i've rubbed baking soda on it with a wet washcloth and will vacuum it up when it's dry. i have nature's miracle that i've used with pretty good success on the carpet, but the last carpet spot it used it on didn't work at all. there's a big mark on it.

Hi guys .. not a bad bounce, mid yellows can lead right back down to nice blues in another spot check or two .. The only thing that came to my mind when you mentioned the mattress problem was oxi clean, not sure if that would work on removing the smell or not .. do some people use vinegar for that? I don't know but wish you luck .. Have a great day guys!

Morning Punkin lets clear this bounce and I use urine off for getting urine out of carpet not sure if it would work on a mattress or not

We have a friend Pam who said that regular Scope gets out cat urine smell. She was in vet school (later became a cat vet) and a friend of hers did a study in graduate school. She poured cat urine on pieces of carpet and tried various household products to see which ones worked. There were 4 but Scope is the only one we can remember. Good luck!

When Danny repeatedly peed on my spare bed, I had a professional cleaner come in and they used their special urine stuff.
It would've been hard for me to get the deep-down pee 'cause I didn't have a way to suck out the water/cleaner.

NO NO! No kitties peeing on the beds please! No advice, just sympathy. Our civie, Doobie, permanently lost bedroom privileges for for repeatedly leaving such love notes behind.

As for the pee smell, vinegar in a spray bottle works really well.

I've had good luck with this on cushions. There are concentrates that you can used in a carpet cleaner too.

Nature's Miracle has to have changed it's formula from what it was 5-6 years ago. It used to work wonderfully, now I have to apply several times.

I used 'Simple Solution' at PetSmart - it did get out the smell but, on more solid surfaces, it seems to leave a detergenty film that I don't care for. It's one of those things that I find an 'ok' product....no rants nor raves...

Our elderly ShihTzu sometimes sleeps too long and has an accident on our bed. If ShuShu has an asthma attack in middle of a looong nap, "....sorry Mom, I couldn't help it...." I change waterproof bedding often and topper is removable and washable. Have a big waterproof pad I keep over it when I suspect someone's having a problem. Most people would think that was absolutely terrible...I know y'all understand. :-D

Hope Punkin clears his bounce soon. Missed you yesterday!!!

I've used Nature's Miracle in the past but only for vomit. Not sure about the pee. I did just buy a Spot Bot to clean up some of the areas on the carpet where Teddi threw up and it says the concentrate works on urine, too. It does really well on the pukus.

Have you heard anything from Brent/Tigger lately????

I've had good luck with this (clickable link) Zero Odor for getting stinky smells to go away. It works at the molecular level (so they say.)
I used to order it direct but the shipping was kind of high.
Now it is available at our local PetSmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Target.

I like Zero Odor too. On the mattress, instead of just spraying it (which doesn't seem to soak in enough), I dump most of the bottle on the wet spot and sleep somewhere else that night so it can dry. It worked pretty well when Lucy was using my bed so often.

Some of the Siamese Rescue foster moms also swear by this recipe, though I haven't tried it yet.

I would think that baking soda is a good remedy. It works on almost everything. I hope it worked for you.

thanks for the ideas everyone - i'm starting with the baking soda and then i'll move on to your ideas. i used to have great success with the Nature's Miracle but that spot downstairs . . . well, not good.

has anyone used Back-Out?

I thought punkin was bouncing this morning, but now i'm not sure. he was fairly flat today - only going from 268-213-201-264. now i'm wondering if i should go back up in dose or wait longer. he's had his shot tonight so i guess i'll see what he does the rest of this cycle.
 
Hi - sorry to have been so MIA lately- I have missed you guys! This is an interesting condo today - I have learned many tings - all great suggestions.

Looks like Punkin is doing well - sunny yellow, nice days before. YAY! Good luck with the new dose, if you decide to go ahead with it.
