Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride.

WOO HOO!!!! IT IS FRIDAY FURDAY! :-D :-D :-D I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. We did well here. The weather, after an early cloudy start, was SO NICE (our one sunny day) that I knew we had to make it an outdoor day for the boys, and what better place than on a river. It was sunny, a beautiful fall day here at home. It was somewhat cloudy where we went, but no rains so no complaints! We traveled on HWY 2, which runs parallel to the Skykomish River for a while, and also a main RR line for some distance too. Nicholas was so thrilled that he saw 5 trains on those tracks while we were en-route. That was cool LOL: William slept through that part... I wanted to to take Nicholas to see a for real salmon run, one where he could be near, if not in, the river. SUCCESS!, and what a great day. Hhere ls what I wrote in last nights post: "HI everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. Mine was fantastic! I elected to take the boys up to the river where I saw the salmon run a week or so ago, in the hopes that they would still be there, and that Nicholas could see something that wonderful up close. The weather held for us too. We didn't have sun, but it didn't rain, good enough for me, and Nicholas. William doesn't seem to mind one way or another. I decided to take the boys up to Index, down the Galena-Index Road to the site of the washout, and roads end, as the river took reclaimed the road a few years ago It's about 5.8 miles from the bridge into Index. It is where I saw all the salmon before, and thought it would be good, since he can get in the water with them. They are pinks btw. The fall colors are really starting to come in up there too. WOW - pretty! The river was really fast today, up maybe a foot or so, due to all the rains we have had I guess. Nicholas had such a good time, and was so excited to be in that river with the fish. Such squeals of delight when he saw them move. That aspect was wonderful. He was so funny though - so taken back by the one dead one along the river bank. He kept talking about how sorry he was that the salmon was dead. ;-) I explained to him about the road washout and the road was no more. Showed him where he could see the road further down, in the middle of the river. That was a huge hit: "road was broken, river was on the road, took it away!" too funny. Over and over again about the broken road and that I had better not drive there.   Anyways - a awesome day for him - he loved the fish. To be in the river with him, have them swim by his feet: an experience I hope he remembers. We were lucky, in his opinion, to see 5 trains pass by on those tracks that parallel Hwy 2 too. He described today as "this is my lucky day" Yes Nicholas, that it was. A very good time. And William? slept through most of it. " Picassa link to photos and videos: Skykomish River, and the salmon. Be sure to look for the salmon in the water shots. There are several.

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!!   With such good weather Elsa was more than insistent that she spend the afternoon out on her deck, so I let her. She was a good girl, stayed there with only one yard excursion to make sure all was well, check the perimeter, and then back onto the deck. I remember writing about this the last time we had a sunny day, but... It's funny and great that she follows the same route that Mannie did. She did yesterday too. Lola and Bug spent the day being Lola and Bug. yesterday I came home to fleece blankets scattered around the floor. How did they do that??? Lola was busy destroying a box I inadvertently left out. silly me! Both Bug and Lola have been working very hard to figuring out how to open the recycling cupboard door. They know the empty cat fuds cans are in there....    Today they succeeded. :o :? :? :? Guess I need to find an alternative now for those cans... darn cats!  At least they didn't dig up any plants today. YAY! sheshhhhh, but: Normalcy in MusketeerVille!! cat_pet_icon

Have a great day everyone! I will have both boys again today. I hope to be able to go to a river or lake, as it is supposed to be a very nice day, with temps in the 60's, and Nicholas asked for a river visit yesterday, for today. We may do jack's pass, while we can still get there, before the snows show up. We shall see what pans out. When the weather is supposed to be sunny and in the 60's one has gotta be outdoors for that! I will try and get to condos when I can. Sorry I missed you many of you yesterday.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

What a great day for you all yesterday! The salmon pictures were awesome and I'm sure Nicholas loved it. Funny how they latch on to certain things. I'm glad your weather is clearing up and that Elsa can monitor the yard. That Lola is always in to something. Never a dull moment with her. Have a great day Michelle!

Morning Melissa ~O) ~O) ~O) Many thanks on all. It was a great day yesterday, such fun for Nicholas. me too on the weather! no rain is a great thing at the moment. so true on Lola, she makes life fun. ;-)

You need baby locks for the recycling door! My business partner has baby locks on all her cabinet doors, because her cat opens up EVERYTHING and tends to break glasses as result. Lola and Bug, along with the boys, are in a group effort to keep both your mind and body young!!!

Have a great day, Michelle!!

Hi Amy - good idea on the baby locks! I think I will look in to that. After all, William fits the category anyways. Darn cats! Lola just knows no boundaries....

Haha on the mischievous kitties! We have baby locks on our kitchen cabinets ~ Ripley used to love sleeping in my lasagna pans, large saute pans, crock pot     . When she was a kitten (and tiny) she slept in my shoes. Opps, sorry, got distracted with memories  The locks have been effective.

:-D

Enjoy your day today, Michelle! Yay for lovely weather!! ☼

How cool! I would love to see salmon flying! Cool! Loving the kitty stories...sorry about the shredded box!  TGIF, Michelle!

Got a good chuckle reading about the fleece blankets on the floor

Do Lola and Bug just knock them there or do they get down and play in them? Too funny...

The salmon swim sounds wonderful. You do live in a beautiful part of the country for sure.

Wishing you a great Furday!!!

PS - My young boy civvies have destroyed their first Mannie-Nanner - they even ripped off the temporary repair (duct tape) so I have to go out and buy them a new one this weekend. They seem lost without it.

That's great that you finally got to take the boys to see the salmon. That's so funny with Nicholas' reaction to the road in the water.

Wouldn't it be neat to have a camera in the house that captured what the kitties did all day.

Hi Michelle,
Amazing pics of the salmon run. Nicholas was IN his element, alright! And William looked like he was enjoying it, too. So glad you got to see it again. Wow, that river was really moving!

Late again tonight. Hope you had a great day today.

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Hi All. Sorry I have been unable to get back to this until now. We had an awesome day at the pond up at the Pass. I will write about it tomorrow. As well as post the photos and vids.

Hi Deborah - it really was as cool as it looks! The boys loved it, well Nicholas did. William was just along for the ride. I know on that box - silly cat. and TGIf back at ya!

Hi Robin - oh no! the Mannie nanner was destroyed???? LOL, and yupp, best get a new one. Mannie never really ripped at his, just slobbered them to the max, and slept on them and cuddled them, and guarded the with his very being! They mainly knocked them down, and then moved them to wherever they wanted them, throughout the room. THX: the salmon run was great! We are very lucky here....

Hi Carla - I so agree on the salmon. I was ever happier that they, the fish, were still there. it was so worth the trip: Nicholas loved it all. I thought so too on the road and what Nicholas thought. really funny, and cute. YES ON THAT CAMERA!! I would so love to see....

Hi Ella - no worries on the late, I am too. THX on the pics - it is so cool to be able to be so close to it. Nicholas loved the fish at his feet. Yes on the river - it runs at warp speed in that section, and it was a little faster than normal! THX on today. It was really awesome. I will write about it tomorrow.

Wow on the salmon pics & videos Michelle!! What a great place to grow up near. And I can't believe how Nicholas, and William, have grown :-D

I agree on the kiddie locks - looks like you will need to kitty and kiddie proof your house

Jane
