Good Morning Lantus Land!
His dose decrease is starting to show with higher numbers. Hopefully the decrease sticks.
Today's the Awful Day of Travel back home. 200 miles, probably 4.5-5 hours with stops and traffic. I've been dreading this. I put Leo in the carrier twice this week for about 15 minutes and both times he got very anxious and digging up the bedding despite me being right there and scratching him through the bars. I used the Rescue Remedy. It seems to do nothing.
I've been anxious too, having worked him from a 7:30 shot time to a 5:30 time for my early meeting this morning. So now he'll need a shot during the trip. And the Cerenia question - now I'm less comfortable giving him this dose this morning and then starting travel at +8 or so because the drug's tmax is 2 hours and T(1/2) is 6 hours. How much is really left in his system for the trip? Not much I'd say. Sooo...after more sleepless mind-racing, and the fact that he is over 400 right now, I am delaying his shot (YES after pulling it up for 4 days) until 6am so I can 1) give the Cerenia and leave later this afternoon (to give the Cerenia time to start working) and 2) so I can shoot later when we are on the road, so if he refuses food, we'll get home earlier in the cycle. This places me in Baltimore rush hour, but **shrugs** can't control everything.
Aaaughghgh! This is all so complicated! I don't even know if the Cerenia is working for him!
Leo is fine. Oblivious. All Ps in place. He even slept part of the night in bed with me which he hasn't done in a week. He gets up like a good boy in the night to come get his testing. I have not ONCE had to go chase him down and drag him over for a test. For that, I am blessed.
Paws crossed for a less than terrible day. nailbite_smile
